I don’t know what else to do. Wowhead, videos, all give locations that are empty and nothing seems to indicate where they are. Bugged or am I just dense, as usual?
The problem is, very similar to the other Daily Quests. Like, i did fly around the Vale of Eternal Blossoms … and i seen “Eye of the Empire” like everywhere i was flying.
Then on the day where you have the Daily Quest to kill them … none could be found even when circling two times around the entire Vale.
Same it is with those Caches, since everyone is doing that Daily Quest … at peak times there is just no Cache to be found. I am in this situation right now as well and i am pissed.
Which leads me to the question … how Bankrupt do you have to be, Idea-wise … when you have to make some of the Daily Quests make players hunt for Rares or Rare Caches?
But i see that already with those “Gather” Quests. Gather a certain Item from a certain Mob. The problem is that in the Area shown on the map, only 50%(or less) of the Mobs you can find in there actually have a chance to drop the Quest Item. Why not every Mob drops the Item, i will never understand.
They’ve made these hard to complete. I found one after searching for an hour, then gave up.
I completed everything else today in Uldum, found a single cache, flew around for about 20 minutes trying to find another and just gave up.
After the quest ended I found 5. LOL. Working as intended.
Just tonight I had to find 3. I got 2 just doing other quests. Finished those, but, it took me about 45 min. to find the 3rd one so I’d have all my quests completed. Just flying around looking for that 3rd one. La-de-daw-de-daw. This is stupid!
Apparently thats the point of these quests. To make them as long and boring as possible so you have time for nothing else in the game.
This is absolutely stupid they need to spawn better when it is busy f*ck i want to do other things in the game than hunt for sh!t that isnt around much. over an hour looking for 1 cache> Come on Blizzard get your head out of the dark hole
Bad game design. Days that cache’s are a quest objective, they are impossible to find… been in the zone for an hr and half and only have seen 2. Cant help thinking its set that way on purpose
Get an addon that maps their location and cruise around. I found my 3 in highly contested zones in about 10 minutes each, simply by being smart about where I was looking.
Have the HandyNotes addon… there was nothing there on my first character, I did manage to complete it on my second one… Still very time consuming. Funny when its not a quest objective there are lots
I had a theory about this and it seems to hold true.
The game ‘remembers’ which ones you have collected - there’s one in Uldum which is almost always available because it’s tucked away in a distant corner. I collected it first then logged out and back in an hour later, not there, zoned over to the other invasion, came back, not there (this is outside of peak hours - from 11pm to currently 3:36am server time). So ok it remembers which one’s you collected… slight problem - for how long does it remember?
We’ve all seen this one by now: the marker is on the map, you go there, sometimes the box is right in front of you, you can’t loot it, after a few times clicking it says “invalid target” and the box vanishes with no loot or update. These things can only be looted a few times before they despawn.
I’m pretty sure the problem is two-fold: first there aren’t enough and/or they’re on too slow a respawn timer and too low a count for how many times they can be looted before despawning.
Second: the game remembers which ones you’ve looted, and the reset on that is too long, so if you collected a bunch yesterday just flying around doing the daily… good luck finding three for the quest today.
I’m going to stop looting these things when I see them unless I have the quest objective. Spent 30 minutes in Uldum looking for the last one (5 full circuits of the region)… today I’ve spent 15 +10 minutes in two sessions increasingly outside of ‘peak’ hours with no luck finding the third one.
Time-sink, c’mon Blizz you’re better than this.
This is basically like saying “Hamburgers, c’mon McDonalds you’re better than this.”
Don’t know if what I observed this morning will make a difference for the rest of you, but, here it goes.
So, yeah, I was 2 of 3 caches for close to an hour when someone in general called out the location of a chest. The location for the chest in question was down in Lost City. So, I flew on over to the location provided. Nothing. While I was sitting there two other people came in and dropped to the ground and looked like they were looting something. I dropped in a bit closer and viola! the icon for the chest appeared on my mini map AND I could now see the chest in front of me.
So, on my next toon I played around with this situation a little bit to see if this was the case for more chests. For some it wasn’t, like the two in the north-central area along the water ways. But others (locs provided in the quest info page on wowhead) most definitely exhibited the same behavior: if I wasn’t close enough to the chest, and I mean really close, the chest would not show on the mini-map and would not show right in front of me. Note: I would be able to see mobs, quest items(obilisks, flags, etc), just the not the cache.
No idea if this is the issue for everyone, but, it was for me. Hope it helps.
