Where exactly do you end up in Outland if you go through the Dark Portal? I need to get to Shadowmoon Valley.

The Dark Portal in the Blasted Lands? Well, i end up in Draenor, i’m pretty sure. Now if i take the portal at the Mage Tower, i end up at Hellfire Peninsula on/at Outlands. edit… Sorry, i see you’re Horde,

Old portal doesn’t work anymore, last checked children’s week.
So get flying from shattrah…

Sadly the Dark Portal (the most iconic and important portal lorewise in wow) doesn’t work anymore. It either takes you to ashran if you’re at wod content or it’s a giant wall if you try and go in the old version (at least that what happened to me).

In the Org portal room there’s one to shat that gets you about just as close to shadowmoon. Also there’s a toy you can buy during TBC timewalking that opens a portal to the black temple raid enterance. Fractured Necrolyte skull or something like that

You can either get there by Orgimmar in the Cleft of Shadows, or SMC (the one room connected to the ‘throne room’ on the right. And yeah, you’ll end up in Hellfire Peninsula.

And that thing was the login screen for a long time. It’s now on the Azerothian Historical Preservation list

I used to go out of my way sometimes to use the dark portal to get to outland instead of the portal in cleft of shadows just for the nostalgia. They talk about wanting to make the world feel bigger yet they remove simple things like this that are subtle yet meaningful to immersion.

Now a new player could probably get to WoD levels before they find out what the dark portal is.

I think they’re regular mages, it’s just not common for orcs to be any sorcerer besides a warlock as far as NPCs go

I’ve been trying for 3 hours to get to Outland and the Blasted Lands and I keep ending up and freaking ashran I’m getting really pissed off

1, holy necromancy!
2, use the shattrath portal for outland, or fly from stormwind to the blasted lands, the dark portal hasnt taken you to outland in 11 years
