Where does your name come from?

“Record of Lodoss War,” character was named Asharam and was a knight dedicated to a king that fell to demon corruption. Can’t say more with out massive spoilers and some might want to watch it for themselves.

Refers to the secondary structure of proteins. Most of my characters are named after some biochemistry or scientific related topics.

Yeah… i need a life.

Gassavia was an attempt at a Blood Elf name that denoted a high standing in society, and very fitting a Paladin.

someone misspelled nemesis.

It was originally a bit of a joke name. I made the character back in Cataclysm however at that time Nutts was a Warrior since Gnomes couldn’t be Hunters. The idea of a tiny little gnome girl tanking giant boss monsters by stabbing them in the toes was humorous to me and made even funnier by her being an engineer. I had a friend who made a Gnome priest named Bolts who was going to level with her, but he got distracted with other characters and never leveled Bolts up.

When we got Gnome Hunters with Legion I knew right then that I had to do some race changes to make Nutts into a Hunter and then spent hours hunting down the mechanical squirrel pet to name as Bolts.

I had read about Druids and night elves and therefore wanted to honor Elune, the goddess of the moon. So I made up a way of saying the moon light in a unique way, hence the night shine.

Keres are battlefield spirits similar to valkyries. I like comparatively obscure, character-themed mythology names.

I also have a VE hunter named “Yohaulti” (short for Yohaulticetl).

Random name generator.

It’s goofy when making names for Forsaken characters.

It comes from Karl Pilkington. I also have an AuntieNora character with a pet called Windy.

This character was the name of my mom’s Bard back in Everquest. I liked the name and it feels like it’d fit a Draenei.

Trixzell, my goblin, was originally Arralin, but that sounded too elven so I picked Trixzell because it sounded goblin-like.

The name I have saved for my Kul’Tiran is MacMurdo. It’s a take on McMurdo, the large man that Sherlock Holmes beat in a fist fight and became one of Holmes’ friends and trusted informants.

Most of my characters names where inspired by the Kit Rae Swords of The Ancients series of fantasy swords and story which came with them. This one being no exception
My Void Elf Shadow priest is named Tenebraes from the Latin word Tenebrae meaning darkness.

My character used to be named swordnboard before I realized how amazing fury is… that and prot is the only sword and board class which made me sad

Cows are ungulates. Also Ungulate sounds kinda cool for a big Tauren warrior.

Rosenivy is a mash up between Poison Ivy and Rosenrot. Rosenrot meaning “rose red” or “red rose” in german and my favorite song by the band Rammstein. Rosenrot was taken so I pondered this name up seeing my warlock in the creation menu with red hair. It all seemed to fit.

( Fun fact, her backstory is also inspired by the song Rosenrot )

Many dozens of thousands of moons ago, I played Medal of Honor: Spearhead on PC. Mostly the Multiplayer. I joined a clan called -=HiTMEN=- and everyone’s names were inspired by 20s and 30s gangsters. Our clan leader was Lucky Luciano, his brother defied convention a bit and went by Murder4Hire. I chose Muggsy Malone. Ever since then I’ve kind of stuck with that as my online identity and many of my toons follow this naming convention with some variation of Muggsy. Yeah. It’s like that.

Splutmuscle was a throwaway line from a really early episode of the Goon Show (1950’s radio show in the UK). The character’s name was Ernie Splutmuscle, who was renamed to Bluebottle - the name which stuck and carried right through the nine or ten years of the series.
The Goon Show used to be repeated during the 1980’s on the ABC radio here in Australia, which is when I first encountered it and have enjoyed it ever since.

Back in 2003, I started playing my first MMORPG, Everquest online Adventures.
Mursh is what I named my Ogre warrior. I was messing around with random
names. Moving letters, adding them, taking them away. I came up with Mursh.

My parents

I started this character as Vengeance, read through the abilities, and said “if you s / demon / brain worm, this is literally the main character from Baoh.”

Me no creative sorry.
