Where does your name come from?

Everyone thinks “Imperonal” is my name because it has the word “Imp” in it and I’m a warlock but it comes from when I smashed my hands on my keyboard to make my first Club Penguin character.

Is common Russian name, blin.

Most of my characters that I play regularly have Slavic names. They’re attractive and often available on North American realms.

From a series of books by Storm Constantine. The term is Actully Wraeththu. But that seemed a little long to me. So I chopped it.

Dvisa is a sanskrit word for enemy … I chose to omit the a for personal preference.

So, this is a story.

When I was first rolling Urugao, my daughter was in the room. I said, “Hey daughter, see this panda-man? They have an Asian culture and I need a name for him. What do you think?”

“Don’t you have Google Translate or something?” she asked, with an exasperated sigh, not even looking up from her iPhone.

“Well, yeah,” I replied, “but what should I translate?”

Another sigh. “Your face,” she said, again not looking up from her phone.

So I did that, looked at Chinese, Japanese, Korean even. “Anata no kao,” I said, reading what I thought was the best one.

Another sigh. This time she puts her phone down, walks over, looks at what I typed, and changes the “your” in “your face” to “ur”, making it “ur face”. It came back “ur u gao”.

Viola! Urugao. “Ur face!”

According to one of online elvish translators / dictionaries Daetathar loosely means “shadow willow.” I thought thought it was a good name for a night elf.

Used to be named ShadowyFate originally, than I discovered Shadowy wasn’t taken, sometime in MoP

My whole account is filled with unique names; 2 Shadows, Thunderstorm, Emperor, etc

Lunnaya- Came from Luna I just added some needed uniqueness

Ariandrid (Air-E-on-drid)- I made it from the celtic moon and star goddess Arianrhod (Air-E-on-rod), added my flair and whoop. And it fits since balance druids use the moon and stars

I generated a random name that started with “Ol” and I fiddled with it until I got the name Olak. It really doesn’t mean anything, but it does sound like a fantasy human’s name.
