Where do you want to get housing too?

With the housing being a part of the Elwynn Forest (Founder’s Point) for the Alliance and Durotar (Razorwind Shores) for the Horde, what areas do you want to get housing too? Also what variety of biomes in each zone would you like for each of these new areas for housing? What kind of style do you want for the architecture of each of these new areas for housing? Of course, the architecture from the area will be kept in all the biomes of this area.

Dang, this is a well put together post

And I’m a big fan of the techno-fantasy parts of WoW…So I would say something in the style of Mechagon city (not listed), or any gnome architecture really

How is Gilneas not on the list? Aesthetically one of their best zones.

And hard no to Dornogal. No one wants to live in that ugly construction zone. Worst city they’ve ever made (even Ashran’s campsites were better).

Undermine.

Not a single picture of Undermine either.

Rude.

Great post OP and I’ve done a lot of thinking about it myself, but I am in no way going to reply with it all lol. I will say I’m bummed that we(currently at least) can’t have a house per alt. I get it why, but I’m hoping someday we’ll get more, and can pick more zones for them to branch out. I have a ton of alts afterall and almost none of them share the same aesthetic, so it’s a bummer we’ll be stuck to having bedrooms for them, and even then, all of my alts won’t fit in only two house.

That said, I’d love homes in Pandaria, Grizzly Hills, Drustvar, Dornagal, Hallowfall, Undermine, Ardenweald, Revendreth, Boralus, Gilneas, Suramar, Ghostlands and probably a few other places I can’t think of right now.

What a great post! I’m pretty easygoing as long as it’s sunny, filled with plantlife, and has water. The Elwynn lot near the ocean is perfect for me!

I expect based on NPC lines that the next places to open neighborhoods will be Silvermoon City, Gilneas, and Bel’ameth. Each has space for a neighborhood and NPCs talking about building housing.

This post took some work. Great screenshots!

My top 5 zones for housing would mostly end up being Kalimdor zones, probably something like this:

  1. Winterspring
  2. Feralas
  3. Ashenvale/northern barrens
  4. Zangarmarsh
  5. Zuldazar

Hold on I’ll go snap a picture of the dumpster behind 7/11 real quick.

Nice work OP! I do have one zone that may not be real popular but would be different. Id like to have something in the mountains of Storm Peaks.

This was exactly going to be my post as well. Since we can wander around in Mechagon after creating a character, I feel like a house or very large condo inside that area would be amazing. I also wouldn’t mind living next-door to the baker that way my mechanical home would always smell like bread.

A fine gentlemen of culture.

Though I would take Azure Span. Be with my Blue Dragonflight homies.

I also love this thread. Lots of context. Mr. Context is having a great day!

I liked your post but I almost unliked it when I saw this:

Ew. :joy:

Aside from the current Allied race I think the island has some very pleasant locations.

I’d love a snowy Dun Morogh house for my Dwarf main!

A treehouse-based house for a Nelf would be great, too!

ETA: My main is a Dark Iron dwarf. We have a mole machine location in Shadowforge City – I’d love a house there, too.

Hard disagree. Isle of Dorn has lots of lovely locations and Dornagal is a pretty nice city. It’s appropriate for the Earthen aesthetic. Ashran/Stormshield was one of the most forgettable “main” cities in the history of the game.

As much as I would love various neighborhoods in different zones (was hoping for Bel’Ameth).

I am starting to doubt they will. They probably want this to be a large community thing and won’t be eager to divide it into smaller chunks

Boralus, Grizzly hills, Ashenvale, or Ardenweald. Any of them works.

OP I liked the post just for the amount of work you put into it. Well done.

For me, I like Victorian/Gothic architecture so anything inspired by Tirisfal or Gilneas would suit me perfectly. If we are all forced into muted neighborhoods then I hope I can at least have a house of this style.

I’m drawn to peaceful, rural lands with lots of green. I’ll never grow tired of variations of such themes.

But I also enjoy the idea of taking some random place and asking myself “which of my characters would be most-willing to live here?”

Before getting too deep into wish lists, I’ll want to understand how housing will elvove over time. If new neigbourhoods are added, will we be able to place new homes in each? Or will there be limitations/monetization? Those things will have a big effect on how I approach housing.
