Where do you go to start sl?

Is there any scenario or quest line that needs to be done?

Btw this is my main

Yes you’ll do a scenario first saving Anduin, Bane, ect and then quest through all covenants and decide who to join at 60. Its all been done on beta.

We’ll find out on Monday.

No. You log in and get an immediate toast quest.

If you want a head start, the quest begins with talking with Darion M. in your capital city.

I play Horde, so its in the Valley of Honor in front of the Warchief’s Keep.

i have beta and this is still how it works as of 11/20 when I reimported my live main again.

Capitals (SW/Org). So either logoff there, or if you are avoiding zombies logoff at a portal to there, and take the portal once SL goes live.

I did all my character sorting in Ashran.

Zombies weren’t clever enough to hit those targets.

Woah massive spoiler alert.

Did you open this thread expecting not to see a spoiler, given the title?

Also… doesn’t say if you’re successful. It’s already established now in the prepatch that we’re going to save Anduin.

It’ll be an auto quest that ties into the end of the prepatch. It picks off from the scene where Bolvar was escorted back to Icecrown by two DKs. He recovers and lets you know what to do next.

I’ll leave it at that.

Its splattered all over youtube and wowhead, kinda well known now.

I didn’t see any zombies in Feralas.

yeah actually I did, where to go to start sl I assumed to be the pick up quest and not what we would be doing in sl.

Not really a spoiler if you’ve done the pre-patch, the first quest being us watching a cinematic of them being snatched by Sylvanas’ homies.

It might have been a foregone conclusion in your mind that they would immediately be saved but not in mine. Perhaps I have more of an imagination.

What I mean though is there anything before launch I should do?

Cos last time I didn’t do that battle for lorderon thing and I was really annoyed

You’ll receive a toast quest (which is a quest that pops up automatically for you when you log in) in your capitol city (either Stormwind or Orgrimmar). You’ll experience a quick moment of frustration as people troll everyone by sitting in top of your questgiver on the largest mount they own, unless Blizzard chooses to force-dismount everyone, then you’ll just have to deal with a huge crowd of people around the questgiver.

It’ll send you off into Shadowlands content, and then you’ll have to deal with hordes of players all going after the same quest objectives, because this time we aren’t split up into different zones by faction as we’ve been with every expansion since Wrath of the Lich King (though to be fair, we weren’t split up into different zones in Wrath; we were just at opposite ends of the zone from each other, and we had our choice on which of two Northrend zones we wanted to start in).

It’ll be like this for the first couple of days as players spread out. Those zooming to 60 will typically be out of everyone’s way by the midpoint of the first day.

My recommendation: just enjoy the ride. The storyline quests are an “on rails” experience that funnel you through the new zones in a particular order. Do some side quests as well as the story quests in each zone: content progression is level gated, and the main story quests (shown by an exclamation point surrounded by a shield) are not sufficient (currently, at least) to have you where you’ll need to be once you finish a particular zone’s story, which will bottleneck you as you have to travel back through the zone to find some side quests to do. Just do all the content: if you come on a new quest, do it. This isn’t like Final Fantasy XIV, where you can just mainline the MSQs (Main Scenario Quests) and be good.

Shadowlands is our WoW life for the next couple of years. There’s no need or reason to rush it. The content isn’t going anywhere.

I dont remember seeing a cutscene about bane, lame :frowning: where do I find that, I got the feat of strength and everything.

I didn’t know about bane till now. But I also read the title thinking alright I’ll probably find out stuff in the beta.

Do you have to do the whole questline from lor’themar (I’m horde)

I think the one thats atop grommash hold

Yes, you’ll receive a popup quest to go to Org/SW … bind your “Interact with Target” key so you can /target the NPC and push the interact keybind to get past all the dinguses. WoWhead suggests the Corgi Goggles, but IIRC that also makes the NPC a corgi, so trying to click it is the same problem just much smaller and cuter.
