This is one thing I’m confused on. I know you get Artisan mettle from weekly quest and I know you get it on first craft. But after that, where else does it come from?
Anytime you get a +1 point or +3 points item for your professions, you get artisan mettle. Each time you hand in a dragon shard of knowledge, you get artisan mettle.
I haven’t hit 100 on any crafts yet, do you keep getting +1 mettle after you hit 100 or is it just dragon shards and the weekly after you have done everything?
you get 5 every time you get 1 profession knowledge
That’s not a lot, though. Some things take lots of mettle to make.
More rep with the consortium nets you more mettle from the weekly.
Okay, thanks. This is what I was hoping to understand. Because the math just wasn’t adding up and I could see running out of mettle after crafting just a few things each week.
Your main source will be the weekly, sadly.
Dragon Shards do give a nice +50. But are rare.
lmao.
Calling them rare is giving them too much credit. I haven’t gotten one in almost a month.
I have been running thru is pretty fast, as it is a component in the alchemy experimentation system. Each attempt costs like 5 mettle and given the horribly low rate we actually learn something, it starts to add up pretty quickly.
I just got one today from an honor chest that you buy for 5000 honor. I was surprised. They seem to come from big rares, like you see in storms.
Per crafting profession you can get 2 points from dirt and 2 points from killing mobs. So 20-40 a week if you have two crafting. Have you gotten all the secret +3 knowledge items? Tamu’s profession weakaura is great.
I got 3 dragon eggs in like the last 3 days and maybe 3 the entire expansion before that. That’s a small sample size, but it seems like they upped the droprate.
Mainly, when i don’t blow myself up and when new recipes show up.
That’s good you get them. I have been seeing that I am collecting them; but don’t have a 1 anywhere
