Also for those that are worrying -
Twitch client addon support isn’t disappearing until the end of November. You’ll have till a week after the expansion hits to switch. There’s no hurry there.

First while twich sold off curseforge [the actual addon repository], it was sold to another company overwolfe and they have a replacement manager just google curseforge to find it again.
second wowhead actually has an article on addon managers, you may find useful, factual, and informational titled
Best WoW Addon Managers for Shadowlands and Shadowlands Pre-Patch
if you google that title, it will show up.
Curseforge
never used twitch before,
I like https://www.getajour.com/
I don’t. Addons are superfluous.
Just get the zip files from the website and copy the unzipped files into:
WorldOfWarcraft/_retail/Interface/AddOns
That’s all the management apps do. And I’m sure some of them scrape data and serve adds. If it’s free and convenient you’re the product.
I am not that pc literate. Is why I put this subject up. Is also why I’m addict for the add ons. I’m 55 and don’t speak much computerese lolz
I’ve made the switch to Wowup.io as well, though it’s add-on search function could be a bit better. I have high hopes on the add-on manager improving over time though.
What Curseforge app?
I have 40ish.
What Curseforge desktop app is that?
Sorry, I’m not manually going through 40ish add-ons. But it is an option for those with only a few.
I went with wowup. io . I need to be ahead of the curve when sl comes up or I’d just melt.
WoWUp wasn’t all that impressive, to be honest. The new Curseforge/Overwolf thing really isn’t as bad as some people think. And they can opt out of data collection entirely if they want. It’s basically the Twitch app minus Twitch.
I thought Curseforge got bought out by Twitch
At least that’s what I assumed when the Twitch logo appeared at the bottom of the screen
And when it became a real PITA to search for your addons
I’m using wowup for now, but waiting to see what happens with overwolf.
If they actually can get money to addon devs as they claim, and they’ve learned their lesson on shady data mining, I might give them a shot. Might.
You don’t need an app, just go to curseforge website find an addon you want download it, then move it into your wow addon folder,
easiest way is go to options when you open battle net, click show in explorer, retail, interface, then just move the file to addons.
Curseforge was bought by Twitch and now it’s been sold to Overwolf.
they got tired of it evidently and sold it to overwolf
So not a Curseforge app. An Overwatch app.
When you have 50 or more addons you do.
WoWUp was really buggy when I used it. I had to refresh multiple times for it to detect addon updates.
