Where do people get their blood elf lore from?

thou hast uncovered the secret unholy skin tanning technique studied through the powers of extreme fel magic, truly a discovery befitting of a hmp. Would you like a shoe shine?

lmao. you dont even know what trolling is either

you claimed there were no ‘high elves’ living in quelthalas. you also couldnt even say blood elves are high elves but they ‘were’ it doesnt matter what they call themselves they would always be a high elf

second you were asked to provide a citation that ALL elves who didnt accept the name LEFT for some unknown reason or were exiled

we know for a fact no one gives a damn what you identify as in quel’thalas as after the rebranding of the race ‘high elves’ were still living in quel’thalas evidenced by the fact no elves were exiled until rommath returned with controversial teachings and began protesting. so you have to be there… to be exiled. SOME elves were exiled NOT ALL. so ‘high elves’ could still be living there and likely are given the canonical status of actual alliance high elves as being a rare sight, receive a cold reception, and ofc constantly get mistaken for blood elves

so again you claimed the elves that did not accept the name all ‘left’ when nothing in the lore or game states or implies this

pretty much

typical helfer that likes to claim that every elf that clings to ‘high elf’ is alliance but cant provide a citation for that

complete joke

Elisande was so mouthy for someone that was so easy to beat.

she was right though when speaking to theressa windrunners group most of them were more than willing to marry and have kids with non elves which for most of the elven history was a taboo and could get you banished or outright executed. the elven society have for most of their history been anti inter racial marriage. the windrunner sisters are the execption to how the elven society sylvanas her self hated how it was the obsession with perfection blood purity personal statis ( which was very common when they were still of the highborne before the sundering a tradition and culture that kept on and even the nightbornes did) the blood elves and nightborne have far more incommon than they do with the other elven races.

it comes from the blood of all the draenei i defeat.

I don’t get the Human potential obsession, but Belves weren’t gonna understand her being cruel to her own people and then trying to play victim.

i think you would like the war of the ancients trilogy. ( its cannon btw ) kael’thas’s grandfather dath’remar sunstrider is one of the characters in it you will have a bit more respect for those who would became modern blood elves. thing is during that time most elves blindly served azshara and saw her as a goddess, many highborne in her court were not blind they were… you know what go read that series or have them as an audio book you can listen to over the day.

I’ve read about it, but not it completely. But I think they are a long way from Azshara. We beat her behind too haha.

you learn alot about the elves culture most of it is the same with some changes.

All high elves are clearly one single skin tone and all blood elves another. There are no hues.

This is obvious because blizzard is so well known for not making exact clones of meaningless npcs.

Likely the writer wanted to be all “SEE THIS HOT ELF WAIFU WANTS MEEEEEEE A HUMAN” and it stuck

I get it from my Headcanon.

Fans maintain the ideas in their heads, outside of the accepted canon.

My lore is so Deep

I’m an ocean in your bedroom
Make you feel warm
Make you want to re-assume
Now we know it all for sure

I get my lore from…

  1. Playing through Warcraft 3.
  2. Reading quest texts and following the story in game.
  3. Reading the official books. The Sylvanas book had lots of insight into the culture of the Thalassian people.
  4. Wowpedia, cited sources only.

Where I don’t get Lore from…

  1. Fan fiction.
  2. Blue-washed headcanon.
  3. Fanon.
  4. Game mechanics.
  5. Oddities wherein a dev might have done something that conflicts with the canon because they thought it was cool and no one double checked the lore. For example: Blizzard making all class vendors a certain race even though there’s no lore or information suggesting that’s a thing.

Game mechanics don’t equal lore.

Yeah i just use wowpedia. A lot of the stuff in your OP is iffy at best.

Agree, people call belfs weak but name another race that had 90% of it wiped out and still continued to fight for years, The night elf population only just dropped but belfs had to deal with low populations for a long time, The whole they joined the horde was actually because of Sylvanas advocating for them, the reason itself isn’t explicitly stated but it was probably out of her still caring about the blood elves at the time or because she still recognized the power that they have and felt like the horde would need them.

hate to break it to you. but that’s the majority of our core races since classic. most started out with their feet in the sewage.

Other than that you’re correct tho.

Well, green eyes and being a bit more red-toned (which is a source of debate but reddening skintone is a common symptom of fel consumption) is a change, it’s not a big enough difference imo to classify them as being different (if that is what you’re implying). Ren’dorei/velfs too.

It’s not related to anything.

Blood elves are a playable race so they had more skin tones available than the high elf npcs.

More recently when blizzard shared the natural skintones they shared the new ones not all blood elf tones.

I don’t want to say blizzard is lazy but they are.

No lore for blood elves indicates any change of any sort beyond an eye glow, which would affect high elves just as much in the same situation.

High Elves and blood elves are exactly the same thing.

The only difference between the two is a political and slight cultural one.

Even the now non-canon rpg where stuff like this normally comes from doesn’t contain any indication of this. I checked.
