Indeed that is true. Now this was not my reason solely for not resubbing but it was definately in there.
As for people losing there jobs it is never a joking matter but when one is not doing a good job should you really fire 200 other people for the short commings of management? Hell ActiBlizz had there best and filled the execs pockets. Yes Ion should be moved to a different job, no lead anything for him. BAD ION BAD!
Iāve not seen him do that yet, he always says āgo to shattrath lolā. Long flight to the portal, but I did it. Actually came out of the Draenor portal instead of Outland, but w/e.
I decided to test it myself and here is what I discovered. The Honor Hold mage teleports you directly to the Dark Portal in the Blasted Lands, instead of Hellfire. I can assume the Hordes version does the same (Thrallmar mage I think?) so as the topic of this thread is how do I get to the blasted lands, we now know that the Blasted Lands portal is still there and all the complaining was ill founded.
That may be the excuse they are using but it is painfully obvious the portals were removed to make things take longer in the game thereby stretching out what little content we have.
The Dark Portal is an iconic part of the game. Anyone who played in TBC will remember the fever pitched excitement of their first time going through the portal. Removing it is a sacrilege that only a bot like Ion would approve.
I didnāt feel like reading all the post. Someone might of suggested this already. Take the zep from org to stv. If you are high enough level to fly. I have no idea where a portal for blasted lands is now sorry. Other wise I guess a mage port to swamp of sorrows.
There is a mage who sends you to Blasted lands, when you take your Lvl 60 quest to go adventure in Outlands. There is no portal. There is a portal to Shattrath to use in other circumstances.
Otherwise, grow a pair, and travel from Gromāgol to Swamp of Sorrows like everyone else. I believe Stonard is even still a mage portal destination.
Itās not hard. Itās never been hard. Quit whining.
This change just sucks for Horde. Alliance can get to both ends of Kalimdor really easily with portals to Hyjal, Uldum, and the Exodar, and now theyāre adding back in the Caverns of Time portal. The Horde has to wait for the zeppelin to Gromāgol to access southern Eastern Kingdoms (or fly to the Dark Portal from Shattrath, which I think takes longer). Look, I get itās not hard to wait, but itās a huge inconvenience that accomplishes nothing.
Theyāre adding back CoT because it became apparent that thereās a lot of content in that area and flying from Uldum quickly becomes tiresome. Well, itās the same for the area around the Blasted Lands.
People are allowed to complain about a boneheaded change. If they added back that one portal to Blasted Lands, it would make it feel a lot better.
For horde players, I guess there are THREE ālegitimateā ways to all Eastern Kingdoms content.
Zeppelin to UC⦠fly for the next 15 minutes. Wait, no⦠itās a portal because Sylvannas & Time travel broke that zeppelin.
Zeppelin to Stranglethorn (not booty bay) and fly⦠yawn⦠fly. Fly. Yaaawwn.
Cata Portal to Twilight Highlands, about as far from anything remotely interesting as possible and fly for ⦠well go fix lunch and come back.
I suppose you could also count stowing away on Alliance ships from Theremore -> Iron Forge, or Rachet -> Booty Bay. Assuming they havenāt broken our ability to do that. Not that either end of those boat routes are even remotely close to anything useful.
So, I guess Ionās goal was to make Eastern Kingdoms a totally horde free safe-haven for cowardly WarMode twinks to level up in.
Kudos, itāll work because damn if Iām going to waste time getting there anymore.
