With some quests, you get to use a rifle that one-shots certain mobs. Also, like in the Jade Forest, you watch and participate in a scenario where you one shot Hozen. Yet, when you play as a hunter or rogue, and you shoot with a rifle, you can’t one-shot mobs unless you are way higher in level.
Where can I get one of these “one-shot” guns?

the one you get from drustvar, you’ll need to do much of the zone questline. but even on my main it doesn’t oneshot anything and it only appears in certain witch-controlled areas (i.e i can’t use it on Betsy)
The gun used to shoot the Hozen was a sniper rifle. I guess the closest thing you have to that as a Hunter is Aimed Shot right?
Also talking of Hunter guns, they are always so cool looking, even the basic guns are pretty decent, yet bows and crossbows seem to fall flat in that area.
Maybe I just need to farm more mog gear for my poor hunter.
There’s a couple good look crossbows, but yea bows tend to be bad.
Mostly because they’re either over designed toss, or…a curved stick. Not a lot one can do for something that is, at its core, a curved stick and some string.

Just go to any Alliance level 1 starting area and you will have a 1 shot weapon at your level.
YOU’LL SHOOT YOUR EYE OUT 
Run your hunter through old Karahzan and keep doing the play boss over and over until you get the Wolfslayer Sniper Rifle from the big bad wolf .

The gun isn’t super strong, those quest mobs are super weak.

Actually I have a troll hunter but damn, you’re Mag’har really looks the part, if I end up rolling another toon now it’ll be your fault, just letting you know.
