Where are you leveling your alts?

I love leveling alts. I know I’m not the worst altoholic here (I only have ONE account I level toons on) but right now, since I’ve knocked off a lot of my backlogged mini projects and grinds, I am taking advantage of this 50% buff and leveling some alts, trying to knock off some heritage armor sets off my list.

Right now I am finally leveling a Vulpera. Despite the limited options in character creation and how ugly they look in almost all transmog, I have made a shaman who is 2QT2B4GOT10.

I chose Cataclysm Chromie Time to level him in and am currently running around the Barrens. I am trying to think of other places to go once I’m done here… maybe Booty Bay.

I’m just sick of leveling in Legion/BfA/Shadowlands I’ve been doing it a lot lately and need something new.

Where are you leveling your alts right now? How ambitious are you, what are you leveling, if at all?

I like to spam TBC dungeons until the 40s or so when some annoying dungeons get thrown into the rotation.

What are your queue times looking like for that? I know those are good places to power level. I did Tempest Keep this week and didn’t even consider to level in Outland. I seldom do dungeons for leveling, but I should do that too just to switch it up.

I play tanks and healers so it’s usually pretty quick.

When I’m playing a DPS I assume the queue will take long enough the expansion doesn’t matter. I usually pick mop or wod, queue up, then wait for the queue to expand to all expansions. The variety gets really fun.

I’m leveling a handful of characters to finish off having a 60 of each class on a new server, I usually just follow the WoD route in Azeroth Auto Pilot though. Basically turn off my brain, have something on the second monitor and just follow what it says. Can’t be bothered planning my own route or thinking about which quests to do anymore, especially since I’m leveling multiple characters at once atm.

I’m leveling through BfA on every alt I create (and giving them enchanting) until I gather enough enchanting mats to get my enchanting alt fully trained. It’s the one expansion I can’t just blow through instances to get huge amounts of materials for so I’ll take all the leveling gear instead!

If I wasn’t doing that, I’d probably be doing Legion so I could work through each of the class hall campaigns.

I enjoy Pandaria and Draenor the most. Lately I’ve just been using LFD, though, especially on tanks and then abandoning the chars at 50 until timewalking weeks because I dislike SL leveling.

i always quest in hellfire, and use cata chromie. vanilla dungeons always have quests, and they’re easy. hellfire peninsula has lots of quests, and they’re mostly just killing stuff. the mobs are dense enough that you can pull a lot and finish a quest really quickly. so i’ll pick up a bunch of quests, then fly around knocking them out between dungeon queues. wotlk dungeons are fine too, but you run the risk of getting oculus, and bc dungeons can put you in black morass or old hillsbrad, and i refuse to wait for all that

I leveled both my new Shadowlands characters slowly through WoD. I like the garrison. I like the mission table. I like the mine + garden. I just liked the environment (particularly alliance side) as a place to level.

I like leveling Cata (classic dungeons). I really enjoy classic dungeons and the number of quest turn ins for them makes them pretty valuable… but there are some BIG STINKERS in classic that waste time.

Once I’ve gone through enough classic, then I like to go to MoP.

Usually I go this route. so many different zones, different flavors. I like EK/Kalimdor.

With the current XP buff dungeon spam and WQ in between.

Right now I’m working on getting three level 50’s to 60.

I bounce around a bit. Lately it’s been Vanilla, Netherstorm, and Drustvar. By then I’m usually ready for Shadowlands.

Grizzly Hills!

Livin’ the lumberjack dream!

Just be sure to wear a lumberjack shirt of your desired color (blue, red, green or yellow) for a fully immersive experience.

For my Alliance alt:

But haven’t done it in a day like her.

For my Horde I do the same but skip going through Silverpine and do Southern Barren then pick up on the previous guide when it enters WoD territory. Then I do Threads of Fate in SL and do WQs and campaigns til I finally ding 60.

I used to use Azeroth Autopilot but it hasn’t aged well.

Yes, I recently leveled another toon through WoD/Legion and the scenery in Draenor is wonderful. I particularly like Shadowmoon Valley and Frostfire Ridge (I love the Orc vibes, WoD may have been a wash for a lot of people but I actually enjoyed the questing, thoroughly.)

Yeah, I loved doing Wrath dungeons back in the day, and didn’t even mind Oculus back then, but I have tried it in Timewalking with people who never did it when it was current, and… I have a lot of patience, but not for stuff like that. I am not a fan of vehicular combat in WoW for the most part so Oculus is a hard NOPE for me. I’ll take that Deserter Debuff before I suffer through that!

I leveled one alt through BC and lemme tell you, I don’t think I’ll ever do it again. The quest flow really showed its age for me compared to the more recent expansions. Most of the zones being essentially flat is pretty nice, but I couldn’t really find these ‘dense mobs’ unless the quest was inside a cave or something.

Is there a specific reason you want one max level of every class on that new server? Do you intend to play them all?

I have a bunch of alts but I only really have them to play dress up, or for an extra run through old stuff for mogs and mounts.

thrallmar and the southeast corner of the map have a few quests. but the good stuff is southwest. a bunch of quests all close to each other and opportunities for big pulls. i take every character to 50 with dungeon spam, hellfire, and just the first town in zangarmarsh
