Where are the Tushy pandas?

It seems like every panda player on the forums plays horde. Did I miss something? Where are the alliance pandas?

It’s ironic since Pandaren were originally planned as an Alliance race in TBC before being scrapped for Draenei.

And I feel like in a perfect alternate dimension somewhere, Horde got Mogu and Alliance got Pandaren in MoP.

(Also the only reason Blizzard scrapped Pandaren is because China refused to let them do it in the game at the time, according to a former Blizzard artist.)

NPC Pandaren monks in the updated Vale of Eternal Blossoms wear the Horde Arathi warfront leather armor

Wasn’t that because blizzard made the pandaren really Japanese in WC3, so China wasn’t amused?

Laaame. Neutral or Alliance pandas are better.

I think it had more to do with Pandas being a national treasure, and China didn’t feel comfortable with Blizzards portrayal, so probably you’re right.

Though I guess they worked something out eventually.

I’ve not leveled my alliance gal (I have a Horde panda who’s max level and an Alliance one at 20) because after I got her to the capital I guess I felt stuck on what to do after that. :woman_shrugging:

I’ll bet Kung Fu Panda changed their minds.

The best tush in the Eastern Kingdoms has arrived. Don’t mind the decay.

Hey I don’t blame them. That was a pretty awesome movie back in the day.

They all rerolled Horde, or race changed. As Alliance players they couldn’t bear to play a class with the best PvE racial as it would make all their complaints invalid.

Instead they just made sure they swapped before Shadowlands gets released ;p

K-FP was legitimately a great series of movies. Can’t even call it “back in the day” since the third was just four years ago.

We live, trust us

You should roll an ally panda op

Oh yeah lol, I was only half joking!

I remember some discussion among Chinese directors (I think?) about how well received the movie was, and how well it portrayed Chinese culture. Iirc, one of them said that because of how iconic the Panda is in China, none of their directors/writers would have thought to both make the Panda into a goofball but also feature them as the hero of the film. There seemed to be some legitimate discussion about Chinese film making because of the movie.

My ally panda was my main during Legion. They do exist.

Glad to know!

I have one. They’re my mage.

Come to Moon Guard, go to Goldshire, you’ll see dozens of them.
And then go throw up, log off, and straight to therapy lol.

I was considering making an Alliance pandaren DK, but one of my main’s garrison followers is a female Horde pandaren DK. So I have to make a female Horde pandaren DK (and run her through WotLK in Chromie time; yes, I know it’ll cut out the minute I hit 50).

…That sounds like something to investigate, I think? What am I going to see?

they twerking in goldshire
