"where are my reinforcements?" Hot air baloon bugged

Can’t get into the hot air balloon, no npc spawns at quest turn in.

Same-ish, he does ride up the hill for me, but the balloon is hella bugged. I am seeing something like 5 or more hot air balloons superimposed.

After speakiong with Ban Bearheart by the balloon, he gets in and the dialog audio starts, but the ballon never moves and I can’t get in. He never appears at the end marker on the map either. So, yeah, hella broken.

And me with my remix toon one bubble away from level 70… meh.

I can confirm the quest is indeed bugged. I am unable to ride the hot air balloon to the top to turn in quest. I am unable to click on anything and it appears as if the are multiple hot air balloons superimposed on top of each other.

Can confirm, the hot air ballon never picks you up, so Ban Bearheart isn’t where the quest claims he is even though the quest flags as completed, and you can’t turn it in.

EDIT: I can actually confirm that the hot air balloon, with Ban onboard, multiplies as I keep abandoning and restarting the quest, over and over.

I had the same issue and found a work around that worked for me.

-Abandon the quest
-Pick up quest and hop on your mount and walk with the NPC to the balloon
-Interact with the NPC and wait next to the balloon until all the dialogue is complete
-Fly up to the turn in location (north top of the mountain next to the two tiger statues)
-Log out and wait the 20 secs (you can exit game too if you want)
-Log back in and the proper instance will load and you can turn in the quest.

The logging out/in technique works for a few other quests you’ll come across later (im talking about you townlong steppes lol)

Can confirm that going in and out of the Monastery Instance entrance after his dialogue is finished forces him to spawn at the correct location

I shouldn’t have to do that, quest has been bugged since mop originally released 12 years ago.

And that’s why reporting a bug as a bug is regrettably necessary.

But sharing workarounds helps take some of the sting out of it.
