When will the Spymaster trinket get some well-deserved tuning finally?

Its completely busted and everyone knows it, except blizzard apparently.
It entirely invalidates every other trinkets, because its practically a half character in single item.
Why is it, every season raids just have to have some obscenely overtuned trinket or other equip effect, that will dominate every other endgame?

If it is absolutely necessary to have such things in raids, then just limit it to be so busted WITHIN raid instances only.
As it is now, its simply game breaking for every other endgame mode, because of the sheer amount of difference it makes for a caster.

It makes sense that the last boss of a raid will drop a trinket everyone wants, and is among the best trinkets

Is this a complaint thread about M+ players needing to raid if they want it or something?

Definitely, if only for their comment about having it work only in raid, which is always a terrible idea.

I’ve gotten literally all my BiS trinkets in the Vault this expansion. Queen’s, Spymasters, Skardyn’s.

The Vault IS loot now. I might actually be done chasing loot in this game. If I don’t get it, I don’t get it, oh well. Just like how I cleared the raid and got nothing out of it for 3 weeks.

Yeah this Warlock actually has that trinket and I got it in the vault - can’t wait to use it lol

I usually get time to raid on the weekends, so I have been sitting on that trinket all excited all week.

I have it on my Disc Priest. The one time I remember using it, it was like I just popped a raid wide healing CD or something, everyone’s HP shot up and never moved while it was active.

It has a very big downside you need to play around hence it can be a bit better moreover it comes from raids and raid get some busted item time to time to make sure you run them over simply doing M+. Game is designed so you want to do both M+ and raids simply why.

My warlock got the spymaster’s from the dungeon weekly cache

Let me guess - You’d be perfectly fine if the trinket came from M+ instead right?

M+ stuff aside, there is a point to be made about how you basically only get to choose one trinket. If a trinket is too good there is no choice anymore.

I think trinkets have become boring now, but that’s just me.

As a m+ player it indeed sucks that I’ll never even approach such dps values unless I get it, but my main issue is really that, it also invalidates the ilvl numbers completely.

I would like all trinkets to be somewhat close to each other so we actually have options and we dont need to get a certain one from a certain endgame mode that accidentally always is stuffed with overtuned items.

The other option I see is having these overperforming items only overperform within their own endgame mode. Everywhere else, it should be normalized.

If they nerfed the trinket now, they wouldnt have had to hammer ele sham into the ground.

Legion and BFA were peak trinkets, they’re straight up boring, unbalanced garbage now.

You can go on WoWhead right now and the tank trinket articles will straight up say “There are no good trinkets, get stuffed”

Wow players are so petty good god

Back when i started wow in wotlk, i main tanked for my 10 man guild in naxx from week 1. Cleared it every week for the first month with me working my butt off main tanking. In those 4 weeks literally zero tank pieces dropped. Nothing. After a month my dps were so geared that they started pulling threat off me all the time, started complaining, and eventually kicked me from the main tank position because i couldnt keep up… never really cared about tanking again after that

Legion?

With Arcanocrystal and Drought of Souls?

Don’t forget Chronoshard + Guldan trinket, and throw in a nice Sephuz Secret for dungeons… mage was so fun in legion

And the Terminus Beacon

Great fun

Tank trinkets almost always sucks because they’re just defensive, and nothing is/should be balanced around having those trinkets so most would be very tempted to just go with a dps trinkets… which they heavily nerfed for tanks now.

Bit of a technicality here, but Spymaster doesn’t even drop from the last boss. That’d be the Mandate enjoyers who have to beat up Ansurek. :dracthyr_crylaugh:

Right.

It makes sense to put good items on the last boss, and the penultimate boss.

Later in the Raid.

My Pally got the Soymaster Trinket while healing a run instead of the vault.
