Because there’s a bug that will quite literally delete a character that you did not select.

think i left my honor tokens on someone…
well yeah i was unaware of the undelete function being gone because i was away from wow for the entirety of dragonflight 
and yes, my honor tokens are on a deleted char

I deleted a level 54 druid to make a remix druid. Then I lost interest in like 2 hours and never touched him again.
Things like that can happen for example. Eventually I’d like to just restore him. Not in any huge hurry but it’d be nice to expect it to be possible again eventually.

The service is available so I will use it. I like to use names I have on characters I’m not currently playing. So instead of sitting at my keyboard thinking of silly cliche name, I can delete and reuse a name and continue on gaming like I want to play.

That’s be fine in itself. But there is ALSO an error that let’s you select a different character, for example a low level alt. See their avatar, their name, select delete, type delete and… Oops, there went your main.
And CS is refusing to fix those errors, so yeah, the feature coming back is important.
I can 100% say it being fixed in the next month decides if my spouse and I stay subbed or come back for the next Expansion.

I was cleaning up my character screen after being gone for about 7 months, and when i clicked on the next character, it didn’t swap off of my main, and since the characters were both plate wearing blood elves, i didn’t notice until the deletion was in progress.
Nope. This not fixed.
Seems to be functioning again!
Sooooo after all that… does anyone know if that function is ever coming back?
