When we gonna get decent new characters? new characters equivalent to Arthas, Illidan, Kael, Grommash?

Garrosh and Varian were in the right direction but they were deleted for no reason.
Anduin is like benjamin button, more the time passes, the worse the character becomes.

So, wheres the remarkable characters?
TWW had some big fights but none heroic acts, none relevant general to be taken down…too many hit&run while nothing actually happens

wow needs better writers first

TWW just started, you’re gonna need to give the story time to breathe.
Also, you like those characters due to nostalgia more than how well they were written.

So you’re asking when there is going to be a new character from Warcraft 3…

Unless they invent time travel…never.

You know what the word equivalent means?

This is a bad excuse, i’m not asking for a conclusion i’m asking for content, we could have good content in the start of the expansion.

Since you’re intellectually crippled by nostalgia lenses, never.

You’ll just still be here complaining about it for the next decade.

There cant be an equivalent. It is impossible to replicate the years of character development that those characters had.

Unless you are just asking a single dimension macho man to stand in for them.

This. Most of those characters weren’t actually written very well and were very 2D.

When they hire writers with life experience and not those fresh out of college who tick checkboxes.

And most of it not even from their WoW debut, Garrosh and Sylvanas had the longest running arcs in WoW (2 and 8 expansions respectively) and we see how that played out. At most Garrosh is the longest running character with any real support. The rest have actually gotten WORSE the more they’re in the spotlight.

The examples I have already presented (garrosh and varian) already refute this sentence.

This is a fallacy, time is objectively not a factor.

1- some wow characters already has more time of development than whole warcraft 3 characters combined, yet they are not good enough

2- characters with a short window of development can be extremely good, examples, Ga’nar

Lmao like the basement gremlins who made the RTS games had “life experience”.

 you tried, dear

Also infamously Bwonsamdi and Denathrius, both meant to be one and done villains who fans DEMANDED to keep around.

Just goes to show, it isn’t that they can’t so much as write a good character and portray them, as much as they don’t even RECOGNIZE a good character when they have…

This is why most authors have a person on hand to get a good second opinion of. Either publishers who send out demos for the public to read and give feed back or some of them even just their spouses read it and give critique.

Yes, they are good examples on how to refute the “time window” fallacy.

The new villain is pretty scary.

Denathrius was 100% a 1 dimensional character. Whether fans like him or not. He has no nuance.

Bonswambi I’ll give you, although they did keep him around for awhile and build on his character

Their VAs really nailed the roles as much as the writing, but yeah. Your point still stands.

Ansurek has the same (maybe lesser) value than many dungeon bosses.

Name a character who has “nuance” and is better than Danathrius… im curious
