When we go back to Azeroth in 10.0

Are we going to lose are covenant abilities and go back to Azerite Powers since they are basically still there?

I recall an interview where they said covenants would be a lasting choice. But I’m old and memory is weird, so maybe it never happened. LOL

We’ll probably lose our connection to SL and the power.

Theyll probably replace existing talents with these abilities similar to legion

But back in azeroth youll be able to use the neck piece again so huzzah

When in doubt id assume Blizz taketh away

I hope not. I can’t wait to ditch them.

I wonder if that’s why you cannot destroy the necklace. And I hope not. I disliked the Azerite necklace more than I dislike the Covenant abilities.

At one point in beta they tried disabling the abilities for everything outside of SL content. They’re 100% going away in 10.0.

Gawd no! Let it be your memory

Likely we’re going to be losing the Covenant abilities and the Azerite stuff won’t exist anymore in “new content”, either. And that’s even assuming we return to Azeroth and not take the next step forward into our two pronged war on Light and Void.

Ion’s latest interview was that borrowed power may not be a thing going into 10.0 because the team is realizing how bad it feels to keep losing things, but he did mention a line about how a Mage in the Shadowlands should come back having learned something so who knows.

Did you not pay attention to the lore any? Used our azerite necks to help heal the world from Sargeras’ sword and both sides agreed Azerite is dangerous and not to mention its the blood of the world and shouldnt be used…But hey what is lore right.

Baby don’t use me. Don’t use me. No more.

i think theyll go further from azeroth as a whole in 10.0 and it will be a space war against yrel the space light crusader

World of Warcraft…IN…SPAAAAAAAAAACE!

No. We’re going to have a new borrowed power system … but you can only use it on one toon, only on one spec, and upgrades will only be available for it every other Tuesday and banking holidays.

Evidence shows that patches are still soft resets for everything…I have no reason to assume the borrowed power we get will be impactful in any way going forward.

I hope we get some new spells or talents next expansion :frowning: i have nothing to show from the last few expansions cept for maybe a couple mounts lol…but no new spells, abilities or anything cool…all the stuff they gave druids were taken out for no reason before anyway…doesn’t feel good to get Nature’s swiftness back, just kind of annoyed me lol

Ion said in an interview that losing powers doesn’t feel good and said if you learn a new ability you should be able to take that going forward.

Now how that works in practice? I have no idea. But it sounds like they realize that just taking away all our covenant abilities would be bad.

As it should be.

We’ve already done a non-“play the patch” content system. You got what you asked for - essences. And yet most people hated them. We as players want patches as soft resets. And by the way, they are very “soft” resets". 226 gear is still going to massively kick-start you into a tier, completely skipping M0 dungeon gearing and normal raiding.

I agree, I always loved gearing in dungeons before the first raid of every expansion. Now only if they scaled the dungeons where you had to do this again, I personally would find it great.

An isle… of dragons!

or… maybe an isle of…

FAERIES!!! :open_mouth: :upside_down_face: :anguished: :unamused: :scream:

well i’m glad you enjoy that style  i think many modern gamers do. Nothing wrong with that at all.

In response though - I don’t like that gear is utterly useless in the next patch. I like the small overlap that classic had, felt better to me. I think set bonuses coming in the future might change that a bit (depending on their dynamic)

I don’t like the idea of “that’s how it should be”, because I think that philosophy varies from dev to dev. Some of those old devs don’t like the current cycle, and neither do many players. Hopefully that is considered.

I am obviously into the modern cycle - i max gear and if applicable, rank every patch. But i’m still on the side of the fantasy players that don’t want the soul of wow to sell out to the current model of “play the patch” not the expansion.
