When we create our toons, it would be also incredible if we could do our keybindings at that time. Just food for thought for the Blizzard team if this would be possible to do.

Doesn’t that require log in?
Because we won’t be able to log in, just create to reserve names.

I assume you need to be able to do what your character looks like, class, etc as well, which means logging in, but the world just won’t let you zone in.

What I meant was logging into the game world, not just the client for creation. I was under the impression that keybindings could only be created within the game world itself, not just the character create/select screen.

Yeah, I thought it was in the login screen on Live, but it is not. Sadly.

U can actually set your keybinds manually in the “bindings-cache.wtf” folder.

The tricky part is not having the folder if u haven’t logged in, need it from the beta or something, then u can just pre fill it and copy paste on launch.

Oh bruh, I get it. The desire for Classic is overwhelming.
I was thinking about it over the weekend and I don’t think I’ve ever, in my entire 40 years of gaming looked forward to a game, or expansion like this. It’s weird! 70 days. Just 70 more days.

Children are meant to serve as a distraction when they’re not in school. Pool parties, barbeques, disneyland trips, newest marvel movie, etc. They’ll be sure you can’t afford gametime when classic drops.

I have to work. My kids are fortunately now 14 and 12, so they will be farming for me. I think a minimum quota of ore and herbs is not too much to ask.

I would have agreed with you about that…until they finally announced a release date for FF7 remake…and then I saw the trailer for it…It’s probably the ONLY game that I’m looking forward to more than Classic.

Dude how many key binds do you think you need at level 1? You have like 2 spells…

No reason you can’t create the folder structure ahead of time under _classic_beta instead of the _retail_ folder.

In fact what you could do is roll a toon of the class you’ll be using in Classic. Set up all your key binds. Then use character specific macros to fake your abilities (aka they’ll just use /say to emulate the ability going off).

Then just create the folder structure needed.

IE

_classic_beta_/WTF/Account/<Account Name>/<Classic Realm Name>/<Classic Character Name> and copy the bindings-cache.wtf file inside it from your Classic prep toon from Live.

Once done ? Back it up ;3

I don’t know why I thought keybinds were done on server now, much like macros. But this is good to know that I can just copy this folder and move it from computer to computer.
