Oh My!! for me it started at the end of classic and though BC. Was guild leader of one of the top raiding guilds on my server<sips a bit of wine> low pop server so nothing to really brag about but still. Burned out on raiding in WotLK and been just kind of floating around on and off over the years. My daughters use to play and when they quit....was a bit down. Hopefully I find a nice guild soon
Cata. I loved WotLK but dear God the PvP was crazy. S5...never forget.
Cata brought reforging, T-mog, actual pvp trinkets (I think?), and the dungeons were fairly difficult which I enjoyed. Despite never having done a mythic.
Class design was really good back then I thought. I finished the Justicar grind on my paladin in that expansion.

End of Vanilla through BC to end of WotLK.
For my raid team I'd say it was the end of Cata. We cleared Firelands and Dragon Soul both before the first nerfs went out and we were #2 or 3 on our server iirc. We didn't really count the top guild though because they were in like the top 200 in the world or something and there was just no way we could compete with them.
Going into MoP our raid lead went on hiatus and our raid team never really recovered. We're mostly all back together now but none of us have that same hard core drive like we used to. It took us all of 7.3.5 to get Heroic Argus down, as in we literally got AotC the last week we were eligible for it.

Last 5 months of Vanilla or so into BC. Stopped playing shortly before Black Temple released.
The end of MoP was when I was doing heroic SoO and I had a guild I enjoyed playing with. Before then, my WoW career had mainly been a choice between doing hard content or playing with people I like.
Started about a month after WOW went live but had the most fun during Wrath, BC and MOP were good *MOP I enjoyed the classes more than anything, leveled almost every one of them up sometimes a 2nd or third to level as it's others specs.
Cata. I'd started late in the final days of BC and by the time I was ready to actually do anything wrath was mostly over. I did some icc, some toc and a sliver of ulduar. But it was during cata- when I abandoned my friends and their guild to "go native" over on moonguard that I found peak fun. My heyday was running then expired content, doing stuff with an rp guild and generally just living with wow. None of the raiding pressures, just me, my warlock and the peak of gear being the snake staff from a troll dungeon and Thulsa Doom jokes nobody else got
Oh boy...
Back in BC when I got my first epic perhaps? Level 30's range for PvP and I was fortunate enough to acquire the Bow of Searing Arrows for 60g. I was so happy and giddy over that thing...wish I had it still, along with my muffin staff. A force to be reckoned with for certain, and I did my best to stay in that level range for as long as I could just to enjoy it.
Fast forward to Timeless Isle, MoP: Never in my day had I received so much hate. Anyone who's familiar with Censer of Eternal Agony could probably understand the hate I received. I'd always make sure to have a Cracked Talisman and a Cursed Talisman as my means of defense. Originally all I wanted was the mount, and considering that was 500 Bloody Coins all while me being on a PvE/Normal server, you can no doubt put two and two together on what I did to help me achieve my goal.

MoP as Disc Priest.
I would do half the average DPS of our DPS and double the healing of our second top healer. Don't ask me how, !@#$ was on fire.
We would run 5 minute or less LFG dungeons for our daillies, 2 man world bosses with my guild tank, drag the %^- end of the playing group through raids, *!@#, was, ON FIRE!
It was like a whole new world than what we look at today, talk about Disc Priest being OP now, holy cow nothing could stop me back than.
And no I am not joking about the above, for some reason Disc Priest was just that OP in MOP I felt like a god.

Cataclysm for sure. Fully heroic geared rogue with legendary daggers, I'll never have more fun in a game again.

Disc Priest was absurdly broken in MoP. I had never played a healer until then yet with little experience I could go into an LFR and dominate the healing meters and be in the top 5 DPS at the same time.
Part of it was because Atonement was a "smart heal" in that you didn't have to manually apply it to people, all your damage would just passively heal the lowest health person in the group. So you could 100% focus all your attention on your DPS(which was insanely high for a healer at the time) and not miss a heal.
primarily Mists. that was where i got 16 characters to level 90, each had at least one LFR Garrosh kill and was fully exalted with every Tiller member. five of them earned the cloak. wasted plenty of hours on Timeless Island
however, during Cataclysm i did 2s arenas with two characters and participated in the Tournament Realm (just play 50 matches, win or lose, to earn a gladiator murloc pet). often did Tol Barad, on Saturdays i would spend the entire afternoon running it when it was up and i allowed to join in.

Wrath and later Warlords through launch event for Legion for me.
Played SOOOOOOOOO much Wintergrasp and I'm not a huge PvPer. Loved that place.
When Legion launched I had almost 30 level 100s. When Legion ended I had 1 level 110.
