When was the last time Ret had a impactful tier bonus

First one that comes to mind would be sepulcher for me

I’m only curious because im cautiously hopeful that our next tier set bonus will be a decent % increase rather than just a sloppy 2-3% while other classes get nukes for their bonus

amidrasil tierset

What does a slightly bigger aura buff that changes shape every tier matter beyond whatever nebulous feelgood thing you’ve got in your head? Tier is free and the portion of your overall it accounts for affects nothing.

To be honest, its the only set I had no effort remembering so probably this.

It was a slot machine tier though but you did feel the weight in every proc.

I remembered the DF season 2 set because there was a civil was between PVP/PVE players as to which set should be chosen between S2 and S3 for 4th season.

But I cant vividly remember the s3 one, something about using spells in a specific order which was ok but it got old for 2 seasons in a row.

Uuuh, right now?

Did you play this tier set? This tier set is definitely very impactful.

If i had to choose a favorite though, sepulcher tier set was really good.

I feel the current tier kind of highlight how unimpactful something else is?

It kind of says something when you spam your spenders not really for the damage they do but for the additional seconds of DH and stacls they give so that you can hit a spender that actually hurts.

Look man, if you’re trying to get me on the train of “we should have less holy power generation, and stronger spenders” It’s just never gonna happen.

I think low resource generation is unfun for basically any spec it’s been tried on. This tier set is pretty awesome as far as im concerned.

Spending actually has interactions for ret, like extending crusade, those are things that actually matter to me, because you can feel it in the rotation, things like final verdict dealing 10 mil damage per hit because you cast them sparingly, i don’t care about that stuff.

?
No, it doesn’t.

Do you mean the proc?
It’s counting, there’s a counter in it on top of some RNG, you don’t get more than X, no matter how many spenders you would cast, this thing won’t proc more.

Man that tier set proccing seraphim was so gooood. I kind of miss seraphim honestly, in PvP these days we just do insane aoe damage with barely any burst, which is kind of eh compared to previous iterations.

Agreed.

I HATE this tier set with a passion. It always proc at the wrong time.

My tier set constantly trolls me and has a good time doing it.

there was no civil war between pvpers and pve’ers. it was real pvpers and pve’ers vs rpers that thought the tierset looked cool. a movement that sputtered out when news broke out that the the tierset cool thor animation was changed to a copy was champions judgement aoe

its not, its only impact is extending divine hammer.

while yes it can result in more rg procs, keep in mind your still at the mercy of rg rng where it procs on the 8th spender or your cucked until the 12th spender.

ideally if your player the spec correctly, this tierset isnt that impactful

:man_shrugging:

All I remember is PVPers wanting the HoW cleave tier set because it was more useful in PVP than the S3 one.

Impactful I guess in terms of its performance and feel. Sepulcher was very impactful when it procced. When it didnt felt like TRASH.

Dfs1 set was literally just damage bonuses, df s2 I liked the throwing/cleaving hammers gameplay, df s3 sucked yet again, tww s1 sucked and here we are now.

The net will be 2-3%. If tier is more than that they’ll just nerf core abilities to compensate.

ya when you did deeper into the whole thing in specific pvp dedicated servers and groups. it becomes clear that all df tiersets for pvp were bad for ret except for s1. hence why s1 tier set had a huge following because it provided needed burst for pvp. while s2 set while also contributed to burst, it was large picked because casuals thought it looked cool.

anyone smart never believed blizzard would tune tiersets to be competitive and frankly end of the day we were right. multiple bad tiersets were picked for multiple specs and they were never tuned beyond the 2 tuning passes meme season had, they will still no where near the power other tier sets had

Let me introduce you to the glory that was WoD.

(2) Set (Retribution): Avenging Wrath now has 3 charges.
(4) Set (Retribution): After using Avenging Wrath, your damage is increased by 5% every 1 sec for 10 sec.

Yea we also had class trinkets. I didnt raid much in 6.2. Might have gone up to manoroth and stopped raiding (I was busy moving to the alliance and re leveling my alts) but wod ret was peak design imo with or without that tier set
