When to use Brutal Slash

When or where in the rotation do you use Brutal Slash? Should I use it during beserk, on cd it just feels awkward
I know when there is AOE situations but boss single target I’m a little bit hazy on it.

It’s better than shred so the only times not to use it are when you want to build up charges for a large trash pull or when you think you will need some snap combo points.

I have a wild fleshrending MoC build so I’ll start a boss like this

Rake, thrash, shred, shred

if I need another combo point brutal slash

tigers fury, rip, rake, all my brutal slash, shred until 5 point bite.

Then it’s matter of priority
keep rake up
keep thrash up
Brutal slash
shred
5 pt bite with at least 50% energy unless you need to refresh your rip.

Not exactly. Because it’s better than Shred it’s ideal to use it when you have damage modifiers like tiger’s fury or bloodtalons.

In a general single target rotation, you should be pooling all of your brutals for the tiger’s fury window, and blow all of them during that window and continue to use them until TF expires.

Exception: if TF is on cd already AND you are capped on Brutals AND know you can recharge one before TF comes back up, use 1.

In an AOE rotation with 3 targets, you will want to use at least one of your bloodtalons on brutal. There is a number of targets where brutal will outperform bite, and thus you would want to use both bloodtalons for brutals, but i’m not the person to math that number.

I was talking about MoC build not a BT build.

As for AoE trash pulls there is a lot of give and take depending on how fast your group is killing mobs. In short fights it’s not always about efficiency of energy use but how many combo points you can generate in 10-30 seconds. Mobs will be dead if your waiting around to pool energy and spending GCD’s setting up snap shots that will only last 10-20 seconds.

for a MoC build, you should still be pooling Brutal Slashes for tiger’s fury on single target.

Agree on the give and take of aoe.

Normally, BS is stronger than Shred even for single target damage, however with a few Wild Fleshrending traits Shred becomes stronger again.
