I feel like this trinket is such a linchpin to our max burn phase that replacing it is going to lower dps over all, even with a higher item level trinket. what trinket would be better for on demand max burst?
Well for starters it isn’t even the BiS trinket. The Soul-letting Ruby is far superior. That leaves you in a situation where you have to run two on use trinkets which is an issue in of itself, unless that other trinket happens to be the Empyrean Ordinance in which case you get insane burst but at the cost of an annoying ramp up period. The bottom line however is that pretty much all SL trinkets suck, which was a fully intentional decision on Blizzard’s part because of how powerful some BfA trinkets turned out to be. So at the end of the day it really doesn’t matter that much despite of how trinkets are ranked in sims because even if one is twice as good as another you have to keep in mind that even the best one isn’t that great to begin with.
TLDR: The difference in DPS between the various SL trinkets really isn’t that great.
