I know there different rules,routes and affix but does anyone have a rough guide on when to lust on mythic+ dungeons

Depends on the dungeon.

In general, on fortified weeks you usually lust the first big pull or the last pull before the first boss (use Prideful for boss instead). Then onwards you lust at another appropriate pack to get the same kind of setup.

On Tyranical weeks you usually lust bosses instead.

If it’s a low key, you can usually just use it on bosses.

There are some exceptions in high keys on fortified weeks:

  • Halls of Atonement: First trash pack. It will be up again before first boss. The boss should die quickly with lust+prideful.
  • Spires of Ascension: First trash pack, and then bosses. Before pulling Devos, some groups may lust on the 3rd mob instead of saving it for boss. Be sure to ask while you’re all being transported by the kyrians to the final platform.
  • Plaguefall: First boss. Do not use it on second boss and instead save it for the 3rd unless the run is so painfully slow that it will be up by then.
  • De other side: First pull. The tanks I’ve had usually have a route that has them make a u-turn to hakkar to ensure prideful will be up for boss. On the manastorms, save it (and all your long cd’s) for the female gnome. Lust on dealer.
  • Necrotic Wake: On every boss. Some groups may opt to save it on 3rd boss for the final boss instead.

Basically, If the standard route to the first boss takes 10+ minutes, you will lust on first trash pack, otherwise you will save lust for first boss. You then usually lust on every boss with few exceptions.

If you’re unsure about a dungeon, watch a high key run of that dungeon on youtube to see where they use lust.

Agreed mostly with what bignfat said.

Wanted to add to make sure to ask about Lust at beginning of DOS, Halls, and SoA. The tank/leader may not know that it’s common to do a big pull with Lust to start and/or it might not be the right play if you can get to the boss pretty quick (in low key and/or with Tyrannical) or if the Affixes make it too dangerous for your group to pull big. To be safe I always ask “Lust first pull?” and see what they say.

Idk people just never do big MDI pulls in pugs so I always just save it for the bosses otherwise it feels like a waste
