When the tank waits between each pull and then dies 3 seconds into the first reaping.
When the dungeon is over.
Hard dungeons are a great way to build friendships
Just here waiting for the spicy replies
When people run in a circle in siege while I’m tanking/healing instead of into the bombs.
2019 and people still don’t know mechanics and then they ask why raider io exists lul
I mean, last I checked you still get the good
Chest regardless of the dungeon time failing or not.
When you’re pugging and your group wipes to the first few packs multiple times.
It’s an omen of things to come, don’t waste your time.
When its the first pull on a necrotic week and the tank forgets to drop stacks
When a DPS clearly doesn’t know any of the mechanics and they’re party wiping
When the tank drops with a resto healer because he forgot to switch out of cat form and actually heal
When you said screw IO and invited someone with a high ilevel just to realize they’re clueless and wearing titanforged world quest gear, gets out dps’d by tank
I try my best to stick it out but sometimes its just not worth it.
You can still get the “good” chest running with capable people and finishing in an acceptable amount of time instead of grinding your teeth in anger and asking yourself why are you in here every single time someone pulls an avoidable pack.
Only 3 times it is appropriate to leave a +10:
- before it begins
- after it ends
- when the group agrees to call it
Now if one has an emergency during the one, that sucks but life happens, same with power outages and the like.
However, people that leave during the run and none of the “life happened” reasons is there tend to be nothing but trolls or scum that place too much pressure on “perfect runs”. Sometimes the best runs I have had, team wise, have been those that had issues.
Or they value their time, and don’t want to carry a bunch of bad players that are making every mistake possible.
And instead of working through it together you just waste somebodies key.
Honestly though, how often are people worried about “wasting their time” actually playing perfectly themselves?
To put all the blame on particular members of a group is not always to best thing to do.
If you look at yourself and say “I did everything I could do” sure, but often people don’t do that.
A lot of people will just go off screaming and yell because they died 3 times in the first 2 pulls of KR simply because they neglected to side step Suppression Slam.
I’m not saying it’s true for everyone, but 9/10 times that I’ve seen people making a lot of noise in dungeons over the past 13 years of playing it has generally been that person who is making the most mistakes.
After you pull 4 packs of trash and tricks of the trade the healer.
From what I have seen, often the ones that complain the most about time wasting are those that either A) expect others to play at their level all the time or B) want an easy carry and get upset at anything that gets in their way.
I only run my keys my guy so this rarely happens in the first place.
Nice try though
And to imply that leaving a plus 10 is some kind of waste is even more laughable given how easy it is to get.
Antiman covered it best, those are the only times you should leave.
When you leave, you screw 4 other people over because a lot of the keys have mechanics that simply make it impossible to get through with just two DPS.
It wastes that persons keys, and it wastes everyone who spent the time getting there.
Leaving one and causing it to now be unable to be completed results in a key degradation meaning it is wasted and the owner now needs to both upgrade it, and complete the upgraded.
I’d like to think I’m more patient than most but there are some signs, mostly already mentioned, that indicate a run will either not finish or take say 2 hours to finish, which is probably an inefficient use of anyone’s time.
I have done it though can’t remember the last time I left, but I can usually tell when someone else is going to leave.
I know it’s a struggle for us pug dps to get that invite but if you just spend 10 minutes combined effort reading the affixes and thinking about what your responsibilities will be with the week’s combo for the dungeons we’ve been in for almost a year we’d save everyone some time and heartache. There’s even a website that will tell you the weekly rotation so you can figure it out ahead of time and an addon that shows you where each trash pack is and what each mob in each pack does.
The downgraded version is probably more suited to their skill level anyways. And you’re also further implying that a 9 is difficult to do.
