When The Level Squish Goes Live

I hope many of you are with me and I don’t care if they are going to be scaled down to new item levels. I would like a refund on the many thousands of gold I have spent on my heirlooms and their upgrades.

They will no longer be what I bought and personally in my opinion I believe all players should be at the very least entitled to have their cost refunded. Not really sure how anyone could argue against this but I am sure there are a few of you out there that can find a way or a reason to as always.

That’s why I love these forums.

That’s what happens when people stomp their feet in rage

Now that they actually listen to players some are still mad

Even tho the number is just changing

Blizz can never win

I sure can. I’d like all the gold back I spent on skill training, food, and water adjusted for inflation.

It’s not happening chief. It is what it is.

Your investment does not out-compete the demand for the leveling experience to be worthwhile again. No.

I bet I have at least $60 cash wrapped up in 'looms. I’m not sure what you’re mad at though because as far as I know they’ll still work, and it’s not like it’ll take half the time to get to 60 as it does to 120 now, so I guess I’m just not seeing the problem.

Caveat: I wanted a refund when they nerfed looms and leveling. I went from just bossing everything to everything being a couple second fight at least, those add up. Scaling did not help at all. Some of us liked to power-trip while leveling, thanks.

Walks into Best Buy

“Yeah, I bought this phone a few years ago, but it only gets 3G. I want a full refund for it since everything has upgraded beyond that now and it’s no longer useful to me. And be quick about it. I have to go trade in my old carbureted pickup to the dealer before they close.”

Akshually… they did say it’d be considerably faster. But still… with looms EVEN FASTER!

insert laughing talk show mexican here

You lie sir! I once tried to return a defective phone and was denied because I was one day late. So I had to send it away and about three phones in I finally got one that was only as broken as the first one (one heated up dangerously). I finished my contract, heard a lot of “hit your phone I can’t hear you” from friends, and then just switched providers.

Except…

They will also scale down to the new levels, so why would you deserve a refund for something that still works the same at a lower level?

Why do people think EVERYTHING won’t be scaled down?

That’s my entire point, they aren’t going away and I can’t imagine they would nerf them any further, so they’re still there for exactly what they’re there to do, not care about half your gear as you level at +45% xp or whatever. If that makes the leveling blazing fast, so much the better. Not so much, well, they should still be better than random blues I’d think. Like I said I own a Pally set, A druid set, a cloth set, and some others. I expect they’ll still do their duty in 9.0.

Are you all dense? EVERYTHING scales down. Without any upgrades your heirlooms would probably be level 35 or so after the squish. If they are fully upgraded, they’ll be level 50. I know, logic is hard.

But if scaling is relative all those numbers are literally meaningless. If, say, 35ilvl is boss when I have it, it’s all good.

I think of the gold as a sunk cost, sorry dude.

I’m more mad that they changed from JP to gold in the first place.

they are? do we still have pathfinder?

the dude does have a point. it wasn’t inexpensive to have heirlooms upgraded up to 120, especially weapons.

Do you see how crazy what you wrote actually looks like?

did someone squish your phone? apples, and oranges dude.

Nope.

I likewise have spent a considerable amount of gold on heirlooms. But I’ve got considerable use and benefit out of them, and thus IN NO WAY consider the gold I spent on them to be wasted. And I consider the argument for a refund to be completely unreasonable.

It’s pretty easy, actually, since I consider the typical arguments to be self-entitled, whiney and lacking in reasonableness.

They squished its usefulness in this scenario. Apples to apples, dude.

we don’t even know how or if heirlooms will be effected by the squish

nobody can claim that they deserve a refund on the grounds that they aren’t useful anymore, since we don’t know this
