When the Aussie dollar was stronger why wasn't the sub price decreased?

Very poor argument.

The same could be asked in reverse. Can’t Blizzard afford to take in 16 cents less per day bro?

I don’t even think Activision care about the reaction. I think this is just a divide and conquer tactic. You already have idiots on other threads lapping up the BS that it is due to our AUD (spoilers: less than 10 seconds on google disproves this) and that US players have been “subsidizing” our subs for years (I don’t even know where to begin with this one).

I mean I have seen villains in 80s cartoons with deeper schemes than this. The obvious intent is to raise prices across the board but do so in a way that offsets the backlash due to it only impacting one region at a time. The US playerbase doesn’t care because it isn’t hitting them right now and by the time it does, no one else is going to come to their defence.

By admitting it’s true.

You have been paying 10% more, despite your currency being worth at least 20% less, since 2014.

It was a relatively short period of time that was universally expected to end soon, which it it did.

Even during that short period of time, the AUD barely did more than reach parity with the USD. It was never of significantly higher value.

What you mean 3 years out of the last 15? You do understand that historically, the AUD has been worth less than the dollar and it has been dropping like a rock over the last 5.

I know it sucks to have price change just dropped on you but lets not pretend that you have been over paying.

Stone the flamin’ crows.

Hell will freeze over before that happens.

When American raiders miss their Aussie PuGs in Voice Chat, Blizz will hear about it.

i still have an email from bliz all those years ago when the aussie dollar was stronger , and they said , oh no we don’t price point country’s , so thats why the removed the USD from any advertisement here surl;y no i was told . but look what’s happened now , i wonder if i dragged out that email and shoved it under a legal man/woman’s nose would it make a difference

well actually it was greater then 10% for enough time to remove a few people from the fed

As fed up as I am about this decision, it kind of was lowered in a sense, was it not?

I might be misremembering, but when the dollar was at its strongest, I remember that being before they started charging us in AUD. So we paid the regular $15USD, which worked out to something like $12AU at the time.

It’s only later they started charging us in local currency. I don’t remember how much later, but I definitely recall paying USD for some time.

one could really cherry pick facts to prove a point ?

I think its the same reason for why, when housing loan rates are very high, our savings interest doesn’t go up to match the banks’ larger income.

Silly rabbit, corporations never lower prices as long as customers are still willing to pay the current going rate. And they’ll also raise the effective prices stealthily by charging the same amount for less product. /glares at Frito-Lay

New Zealand is a different country.

It’s never happened once, like ever. I remember when the AUD went as low as US42c and Microsoft and Adobe announced new AUD pricing - and it never went back down when the AUD rose again a few months later … even when it went past the US$. There is zero justification for this gouge especially when you consider the Australian Economy hasn’t tanked due to Covid or other reasons.
