When Sylvanas destroyed Darnassus

Parts of the ship crashed into his house and near it, either scaring or corrupting the Owlbears nearby. They rampaged and killed the guys family… and ate them. Only the fisherman and one of his daughters survived.

We try to keep interaction with the fleshy-feets to a minimum… you know, in case it’s contagious…

But also… Bc their architecture and intelligence was written as too vast and successful to be made manifest on one side of the war alone. People often forget that the draenei are a functionally immortal race who’ve:

  1. Built a highly advanced utopian civilization thousands of years before any race on azeroth knew how to formulate speech
    .
  2. Not only Mastered Science, Magic and Art - But wove them together
    .
  3. Have the knowledge to build weapons capable of planet-wide annihilation (sure they cant use their current version bc they don’t have the needed fuel… but I’m pretty sure they’re capable of adapting the technology or finding another energy-source)
    .
  4. Are probably among the best wielders of the light that azeroth has to offer, considering they’ve all been immersed and literally taught by it’s avatars for thousands upon thousands of years. the only exception to their mastery would probably be the lightforged (who are still draenei).

I honestly dont think blizzard could acknowledge their achievements without giving the alliance a permanent upper hand. So in their view, it’s probably better to maim them then remind people of what’s rightfully theirs.

You forgot to add:

  1. Have incredibly resilient bones that work wonders as construction material.

Kidding, kidding (or am I?).

In all seriousness, the Draenei are a powerful race, but they’re not ‘all powerful’ otherwise they’d have never been defeated by the Orcs, fel-empowered or not.

Which they also forgot about.

Seems like the side with the space battleship should have won the war focusing on wooden ships pretty instantly.

That’s unfortunately the truth. After the Draenei exiled themselves from the rest of the Eredar race, they took heavy losses multiple times. The Civilization they built on draenor, though impressive and beautiful, was still just a shadow of what they once were. That realization paired with the fact that they were vastly outnumbered would be a large part of why they fell in battle against the orcs.

Now if we’re talking about fel-empowered orcs VS teh Draenei before they left argus… then the orcs would probably have been obliterated… but alas we never got to see that.

The Draenei’s real strength and contribution to the alliance is in their knowledge. The wisdom and technological achievements of a race substantially older often comes in handy

If Sylvanas left her body and turned into a banshee, is her body still laying in the Dead Scar?

They’ve said in interviews that they deliberately omitted it because it “didn’t fit the story they wanted to tell.”

Yeah, we layfolk call that a “plot hole”.

Imagine if Star Wars just omitted Luke Skywalker because he “didn’t fit the story they wanted to tell”…Oh god.

After the fall of the Legion, the regular draenei put a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign up on the Exodar and have been having a well-deserved vacation. Velen smartly said “Sorry, no war today” and they collectively shooed their Lightforged cousins into the spotlight in their place.

To be honest I dont belive anyone belived manual catapults could launch something not only miles from the shore but up high enough upon the world tree to cause real harm…but damn those things launched almost as if time and space didnt exist…maybe the draeni were aiding in secret the horde porting the missiles mid air to darnassus. O:

But seriously the real question is how on earthmother did they even reach the tree…its a mystery…

They did. You can find Darnassian refugees on Azuremyst.

The night elves aren’t really comparable to the gnomes, though. They are strong enough of a people to have military strongholds throughout Kalimdor and could retake Darkshore from the Forsaken with only the direct aid of GIlneas. The gnomes lost to troggs and didn’t really have any other cities aside from Gnomeregan, so that resulted in the entire race having to take refuge in Ironforge. The Night Elves, even after the loss of Darnassus, aren’t in that same dire situation.

I don’t imagine a ship made of crystal and otherworldly metal is exactly easy to burn

Also the vast majority of Draenei are either dead or captured. The ones on Azeroth are refugees that were running from the burning legion

There you go.

gnomes have a small presence around Azeroth…

That’s what you call poor writing. It’d be like writing a story about the Marines getting their collective butts trashed and “we omitted them asking for army, navy air air force assistance because we had a story to tell.”

Except if something happened and the Marines were getting hammered hardcore, they WOULD ask for help.

If you have military resources in a story about WAR, you better be ready to explain, IN STORY, why certain military resources are NOT being used. Because the READER will certainly ask that question!
