When streamers change mmos

Are you guys tired of youtubers/streamers creating content “WoW refugee tries ff14” “ff14 veteran migrated to GW2” etc while complaining about how bad the old mmo is and how awesome the new mmo is. I am tired with “creators” having to announce their new “love” every time they need new audience while they cannot play a minute more of their previous mmo

Streamers are just randos who are desperate for attention and money and will pretty much say anything they think will increase views.

I mean…you could just not watch them :man_shrugging:

Meh, don’t watch them but if I did wouldn’t care…

I don’t watch game screamers.

I watch a comedy streamer on just chatting.

WoW player switches over to playing minesweeper.

The vast majority of streamers aren’t entertaining, or even relatable in any way once they get big.

The funniest thing is that one of them will create a video–let’s say it’s an arbitrary list of stuff, such as items for X purpose or leveling–and then all of them make the same video and follow suit. It happened over and over with Classic WoW, as they made videos that were cookie cutter of the same information we already knew.

Don’t watch their streams? Seems like an easy solution.

You complain about streamers just like the streamers complain about the game.

Shut up and play the game if u enjoy it

I definitely don’t mind a content creator that got my attention with their WoW content branching out into other games.

I do mind rage trains and blatant clickbait.

Its not bad, they need to create clickable content, and you and I clearly click on that.
Its a great way to appreciate different games, and if a viewer decides to try out FFXIV, all the power to them.

I tried FFXIV, ESO, BDO, GW2 and every single MMO, and always came back to wow because its just so good, and the charm and dedication put into it by Blizzard is unreal.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo I wana complain about people more famous then me even though they have no impact on my life what so ever!!!

Novel concept, just don’t watch them. I don’t. It’s pretty easy.

Nope because I don’t watch live streams

If I watch a video of a stream on youtube I’m not going to click on anything that has that as a title. Anything that sounds opinion-y I stay away from, just like politics

I mean - not really. You have every capability of ignoring said creator’s thoughts and feedback. If you do not like it, do not watch it. The only way you even know said creator has said something to that effect is if you follow them enough to note their thoughts, and what they’re doing. That’s a you problem.

Sometimes I want to click on something because it does seem interesting but then “you won’t believe what happens next!” [Click]

:unamused:

Yeah no, now I’m not clicking

This isn’t a streamer thing. It’s a player thing.

People who have spent potentially years, maybe even over a decade with a single MMO tend to feel the need to justify their decision to move on by praising the thing they’re giving a try and crapping all over the thing they just moved on from.

Ever pay attention to the chat in new MMOs from 2009-2014 when “WoW Killers” were popping up left and right? It was almost entirely people going “This is so much better than WoW”.

Streamers just have more visibility, but they’re doing the same thing when they do this.

I don’t LIKE that people behave this way, and it’s potentially worse when popular streamers do it because they DO influence how certain types of people think, but it’s pretty typical behavior.

I don’t care either way. :man_shrugging:

I’m not tired of it 'cause I pay little attention to them.
I just pop up a video if it interests me and ignore the other.

There whole thing is playing games and making content on game stuff so it’s only normal — we live in a time where every bob joe and sally report on what they are eating, playing, watching, I just choose to ignore it.
