Please blizzard, allow us to move either to TBC classic or one of the Forever servers. Please don’t restrict us to just the classic forever.
I’d love to continue playing my characters without having them stuck on realm that’s kaput.

That was said since the very beginning that your chars were going to era. Som favors players who don’t mind the “end” to the toons timeline. Hence the “seasonal” server

I know what I’ve signed up for by playing SoM. I know my character will go to a dead “Classic Era” realm and remain there in purgatory forever, but I also know that there will likely be another season after the first SoM and I can start fresh again.

You could, of course, play your characters in the Classic Era realms. If you and enough others did that, they would no longer be “dead.”
Your level 60s would be able to get world buffs again, raid instances that were too hard to clear under the new rules would be easier, and you could start new alts or transfer lower level alts from SoM and not have to suffer with the 100% XP buff, so the leveling game would last longer.
However, if they decide to create a Season 2 of [something] then you could instead play that new game. I thought that was the whole idea of seasonal servers? Play it until the end, then it resets, and either a new season of the same thing, or a new season with a different rule-set would come out.
Transferring characters to a Classic Era realm is just an option. You can let them be wiped along with the servers. That was the original idea. I think they added the “Oh, you can transfer to Classic Era if you want” as an afterthought.

People just need to identify the reality that their som toons are essentially gone after season. Not sure why there is post after post hoping otherwise.

This is where I was going to steer towards.
I’ll never understand players that are literally so unhappy with themselves that they have to try and rain on other people parades when it has literally no effect on them.
I hope you two find some kind of happiness somewhere in life instead of needing to be miserable to other people on forums.
There isn’t any reason to not let us take our characters to TBC.

Bro we aren’t raining on your parade, we are trying to help you understand reality. What he stated was absolutely correct, and everyone was told what a season server was and how it works.
How exactly do you think you would be moved to tbc? Does it happen just randomly one day? We all get dumped on a tbc server that’s already in sunwell? Have you considered the current size of populations, and the technicalities required to do this? There’s too many unseen complications with what you wish for. It’s not hard to understand, unless your emotion prevents you from accepting it

I don’t like seasonal servers. I don’t play on them. I would advise you to do the same.
Sorry if I seem salty about that last one, but it’s ridiculous how people act on the forums instead of having a civil discussion.
No what I think would be preferable to what they currently have is this. When SoM ends, which stands to end slightly before TBC progresses to WOTLK we get these 2 options.

Move you character to a classic forever realm to continue your adventure in Azeroth.

Move your character from SoM to TBC (which would be in or close to it’s WOTLK prepatch)
Really simple solution to allowing people who would like to continue playing their character outside of the content they’ve already done on it. I’m not asking for anything special, and I’m not asking for something that’s going to alter anyones gameplay. Simply asking to be able to continue my SoM characters journey.
Sure I started SoM knowing my characters would eventually rot, because lets be honest Classic forever is dead, peope like progression and I think many people would love to be able to continue their characters progression.
That, or let us move SoM classic chars to SoM TBC.
Which I think condensed phases helps people not stagnate between content, as is the case with TBC currently (which is far from dead).

I do believe what you are saying there. I personally don’t care at all if they let people do it. I wouldn’t, I’d just play this current shaman who is not active and geared and level that instead. But I am aware of the technicalities involved, such as server population. Offloading thousands of more toons I am just certain is something blizzard will not do
Agreed. They have been pretty upfront about what will happen when the season is over.
I’m sorry that you may not get what you wish for, Gouryella. I understand asking for something could mean a change but with all the other seemingly simple requests that have been made and not acted upon, I think it unlikely to happen.
Yeah there really isn’t a large enough SoM population to really unbalance their servers any more than they are.
To be quite frank, I don’t see why they’d be concerned about any kind of imbalance it’d cause when blizzard blatantly allows servers to become so grossly imbalanced it causes mass exodus.

dont worry i already know exactly what blizz is planning you ready, at the end of som ur toon will go to a classic era realm… BUTTTTT u will have the chance to pay 25 dollar to move them over to tbc… kinda like what they did to the classic toons in order for them to stay in classic but also move to tbc… all blizz cares about is money… so for every toon u just lvled in som and wanna use in tbc or wraith when it drops sure but u gotta pay blizzard money just to do it… any1 who thinks the opposite is wrong… why would blizz miss another chance to get money from the classic players

They should just connect or merge the SOM realms and leave them there. Keep the characters made on that crap AWAY from normal realms.
