Hey there! Since we are about a month out from the remix character transfer, I found myself wondering as to the specific methology Blizz is using. Are they using a SQL script or the like to actually transfer the character data over to retail or is it more of just a clone where they just copy the relevant character information into a new character?
Why does this matter? Specifically, I’m curious to see how much of my character will actually be there once the retail transfer has taken place.
- Will action bar settings, keybinds, and macros all be there?
- What about saved transmog sets?
- Or saved Talent Builds?
- I would assume Remix achievements would be there, what about other achievements?
- Safe to assume we won’t have to rejoin guilds or regain reputations?
- Will there be any sort of “Welcome to retail” quest rather than just being thrown into SW/Org as if we had just woken up from a dream?
Anyone have any knowledge of how this is supposed to fully play out? Thanks!
- Keep what you collect: Take your collection of transmogs with you later when The War Within™ goes live.
Earn titles, a variety of transmogs, previously unreleased color variants of older mounts, and more simply by completing World of Warcraft Remix: Mists of Pandaria specific achievements during the Remix event. These achievements will become Feats of Strength when the event ends.
The gear you’ve earned will be removed and you will be provided with 424 gear I believe. Everything else follows you to retail.
That makes sense for the stuff you’ve earned. The transmogs you get are account-wide as are the titles and mounts and the like. But I guess I’m more asking about the character specific stuff.
If I set up a couple of specific transmog designs for a character and save them to my character, will I still have those transmog designs when the character transfers over or should I be saving that information before the transfer so I can easier rebuild them when it happens?
The wowhead post on the Remix states 415 gear. It is shown as correct as at 13 July when it was last updated. Not sure where they got that info from but I must say I expected 424 as it is what you get for a boosted character that came with the TWW purchase.

Won’t know until it happens, probably.
Personally I’m going to make sure all my alts have their bank filled out with those cheap super bags before they get yeeted back into retail proper, just in case.

I’m just going on a post I saw. I read it in the remix forum. That was May 18th so you’re most likely right.
I’d save that information just in case.
I understand it’s a bucket brigade.
