When is Uther's Judgement?

In all the debate about the fate of Sylvanas we’ve seemingly forgotten that one of Azeroth’s “heroes” was a major player in kicking off the revolt in Bastion that began sending souls to the maw in droves. He also led the Forsworn on murderous rampages through Bastion’s temples, killing many innocents. All because he felt bad about Arthas. Many died because he couldn’t come to grips with his emotions.

Yet even after admitting to his wrongs he just stands among the rest with no hint of him ever having to be judged for all the pain and torment he caused.

I started playing this game as a Paladin. I’d never travel near Uther’s tomb without stopping to pay respects. I feel betrayed by his selfishness, and how he became the antithesis of a Paladin.

Will Uther be judged at all, or will his crimes just be forgotten? Surely a good number of those lost souls in the maw bear the mark of his actions.

Justice in the Warcraft Universe is pretty selective. Don’t forgot that Grom was completely forgiven for his numerous war crimes since he kinda-sorta helped us stop Archimonde and Gul’dan. Besides that though, Uther’s crimes seem like small potatoes in comparison to what Sylvanas did, so that is probably why he is not being discussed as much.

Uther is formerly alliance member.
When did Alliance ever face any consequences for their acts?

When will the alliance face consequences and be judged for the murderer of civilians in Taurajo? When Tyrande will be judged for murdering hundreds of horde civilians? Oh, please, don’t ell me she did just because Sylvanas burned Teldrasill, so it is all forgiven amiright…

My bet is the second one.

Unless I’m misunderstanding something, the only one that was there directly because of him was Arthas. Those that die in the Shadowlands are just permanently deleted (at least of those native to it; not clear on the rest); they don’t just cycle through. Of course, that’s not necessarily much better.

I suppose you could argue that, by supporting Devos and company, he helped prolong the whole shebang and thus is indirectly responsible for an indeterminate number of souls being there. It gets messy pretty quickly when you start assigning guilt that way though.

Easily done. It’s been made bitter by his own actions.

That’s kinda myopic, what-with Garrosh blowing up those people in Stonetalon and doing what he did to Theramore~ and also the (Old) Horde’s (still the Horde) whole thing with the draenei on Draenor, back in the day.

I’m talking about souls of mortal realms. None of that could have happened without the Forsworn helping the Jailer.

Uther had nothing to do with Arthas death.

Heck where is our judgement? We each have killed more things than slyvanas I bet. For way less than trying to skip the line at the hogwarts sorting hat too.

The Forsworn weren’t his project though; they were Devos’. She even went out of her way to make sure he didn’t know they were helping the Jailer. He thought he was helping overthrow what he saw as a corrupt power structure in Bastion.

No, but he did yeet him directly into the Maw instead of giving him to the Arbiter for judgement like a good pigeon.

He was judged for that.
When will the alliance be judged?

This is whataboutism.

Good point. I’d forgotten that.

Even if you give every Forsworn the benefit of the doubt that they didn’t know they were in league with the Jailer (and that’s a huge stretch) there’s still a lot of innocent blood on their hands. Just in Bastion alone.

Sounds like some self imposed RP that none of us should suffer for.

It literally has no bearing on the story or the point I was making. It’s merely flavour.

Topic is about lore, you might want to step out if that thing isn’t something for you

Lore and RP are not the same.

Lore is what we all know and play in.

RP is… Not.

The Lore is not subject to Self Imposed RP of each individual.

OP, perhaps the beings that should be judged are the leaders of Bastion who did not listen to Devos in the first place. If not for them, we wouldn’t have had to suffer for the last two years.

You can argue that they shoulder some of the blame, but that does not absolve the Forsworn of theirs.

The self-imposed RP of anyone has nothing to do with the discussion. I think you just want an argument and picked a bit of flavour text to base it on. Whether I stop and pay respects at Uther’s tomb, or do a /fat emote when flying over, or ignore it all together has nothing to do with what happens in Bastion.
