Yes it was the right thing to do. Devs don’t hate the Alliance. They just seem to polish the Horde a lot more.
How is that horde bias though? In what world would any monster like race join the alliance? I’m sure people will point out wolf boy and girls but they are human with a wolf form and not the same thing. The theme of alliance just won’t allow it.
Yup, they did hotfix it mid tier:
https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/news/20863656/hotfixes-august-11
That’s why I said “supposedly”. I’m neither confirming it nor denying it.
However you can’t deny that they put in more QoL for the Horde from time to time. May not matter immediately but adds up over time
Tuskarr and Ankoan/Jinyu come to mind instantly as beast races… but Blizzard…
Isn’t it well known that a lot of guilds jumped ship for Kiljaeden to make use of the goblin racial which further diminished the Alliance and Blizzard didn’t bother hotfixing till mid tier?
Whereas Alliance “issues” are hotfixed even before the tier goes into release.
That is the difference people are pointing out to you. It may not matter to you, but it does cause changes
I still remember when I was new to the game and strolling my way through Ashenvale. “Stick to the road!” said the tips, “the roads are safe!” they said.
Until I tried to follow the road right through Astranaar… the road was not safe there.
I quickly learned that, as a Horde player, “Following the road” it’s not always safe, since there’s this fascination of putting Alliance hubs right on those.
I also remember the amount of times I’ve almost wandered into Alliance hubs while questing, because it makes sense to put quest objectives next to places full of NPCs that want me dead.
I truly feel Blizz takes the QoL of Horde players into account when designing things…
Stupid Alliance Gankbird?
Jinyu maybe but I cant see Tuscar joining the alliance, same with Ankoan. Like what would there reasoning be aside from we helped out one tribe of them once.
I agree that there is bias. I’m a Horde only player but I think it is bad for the game.
I would’ve loved it if there was no bias and the Alliance was the more popular faction tbh. I miss being the underdog but there is no way I’d play Alliance since I always end up with the rudest Alliance players when grouping and it just ruins my experience.
Not to mention that the two races I’d play the most on Alliance, Kul Tirans and Mechagnomes are locked behind dungeons that required me to group with the above mentioned rude players. AR’s are subjective but I do not like the DID at all and I am not an elf fan but I think the VE’s are the coolest elf in the game at the moment. VE > BE imo.
I’d personally like to see racials removed and made into non-combat/non-movement flavor skill like the Vulpera got. I do not like the Vulpera and would’ve been happy to give Alliance them and give the Horde Sethrak but that did not happen unfortunately.
It’s subjective but it definitely feels like someone is pulling some strings to give Horde the things that will bring more players to their side. There are too many little things that add up to Horde bias and I do not believe there is anything that can be done at this point in time to rectify it. Feel bad for Alliance players.
To each their own.
Again this is the problem you’re showing: You’re refusing to admit the obvious QoL changes either dismissing them as nothing or just resorting to showing places where your faction got nerfed without understanding that your faction always got QoLs whether they were nerfed or not.
I have no idea whether you’re looking for a proper debate or just want to dismiss things just because you’re Horde.
It’s really up to how blizzard writes them in, look how light forged went Alliance and high mountain and Nightborne went horde both factions helped them. But they added a weird story for them to pick a side…
Void elves popped out if thin air… anything can be written in.
Oooh boy, there’s a lot to unpack here.
I play both factions, which, for the record, is something you can TOTALLY do. My comments on your points:
What happened to the Alliance warmode bonus? It is only 15% now, pathetic, and yet again Horde bias because too many Horde whined about it being 30%. The Alliance cannot have anything good for them in the eyes of the Horde and Blizzard.
I think all bonuses should be removed. The incentives just invite people to turn on war mode and then whine when they, get this, get farmed in World PvP for honor because they don’t usually play PvP content and aren’t familiar with PvP rotations and strategy. Let people who want to PvP do PvP. Don’t put a carrot on a stick that says ‘You must be this masochistic to farm anima THIS much faster’
Horde win a majority of battlegrounds and epic battlegrounds, statistically way more than Alliance. Why? Because Blizzard gave them better racials.
…Yeah. You right, but not about the racials. Horde just has a bigger player base atm.
Speaking of racials, Horde also have better PvE racials now as well, and that is why all hardcore raiding guilds are on Horde. Thanks Blizzard!
I’m sorry, but don’t humans get buffed secondary stats, bonus rep, and a ‘Get out of CC free card’? Alliance racials aren’t terrible, but I agree they need a rework or removal. I saw a suggestion where people could pick like three racials they like at character creation and, honestly, that’d be huge for balance if we got to pick our racials. (Or even better, removal of race/faction restrictions, but, ya know, ‘Dur dee dum, itsh World of WARcraft, dur dee dum’. Despite the faction war not REALLY mattering since Warcraft II and every time Blizz tries to shoehorn in a conflict between factions it goes very, very poorly.)
Moving on~
The story is also catered towards the Horde. They always mention that their leaders die, yet their leaders are always the main characters and affect Azeroth in some crazy way while the Alliance are like NPCs that have to react. Also, where is the justice for Teldrassil? More Horde bias, they completely look over the heinous crimes of a faction.
…Lemme just stare at the Horde’s pile of dead/disgraced warchiefs and get back to you on that story bias. Oh, and your justice for Teldrassil came from the Purge Squads y’all sent to Vol’dun to ‘Have a chat’ with the Vulpera.
In conclusion to my rambling, you got a point, friendo. Alliance has been getting shafted a lot with content and the faction balance atm is CLEARLY evidence of that.
But if we’re going to talk about War Mode, I’ve leveled 4 characters to 60 through war mode. Two Horde, Two Alliance.
My Alliance characters breezed through leveling with barely any fuss. My horde characters? I’ve had to turn off war mode because the Alliance does NOT know the meaning of fair play. They will see a lowbie, froth at the mouth, and camp their corpses so they cannot quest.
It happened two days straight on one of my characters. So I’d quit whining about War Mode on Alliance. Lowbie Horde toons, from my experience, have a worse go of it and even less rewards.
It’s subjective but it definitely feels like someone is pulling some strings to give Horde the things that will bring more players to their side. There are too many little things that add up to Horde bias and I do not believe there is anything that can be done at this point in time to rectify it. Feel bad for Alliance players.
This is generally what the Alliance players feel when they see subtle things being made easier whether it’s as simple as unlocking a race to buffs in raids.
Thank you for understanding.
I mean Alliance players do the same thing when Horde players make complaints about the villain bat. People don’t seem to understand that the Horde is not supposed to be this war loving faction that would rather put a ax in your back before talking to you. I would gladly give up whatever bias there is, real or not, to get the Horde I joined back.
Again this is the problem you’re showing: You’re refusing to admit the obvious QoL changes either dismissing them as nothing or just resorting to showing places where your faction got nerfed without understanding that your faction always got QoLs whether they were nerfed or not.
You are bringing up that we have it better. I’m simply showing that we don’t. That does not equal to me saying we haven’t gotten anything good.
Which is more than what you’ve been doing. Because you’re latching at literally anything and trying to twist it as something negative to the Alliance.
While the nightborn one ill give you it was weird but come on did anyone expect the highmountian to go Alliance?
cough Australian servers are linked to US servers cough
Speaking of racials, Horde also have better PvE racials now as well
Isn’t human and night elves best Racials in game for PvP and PvE currently.

Not really.
You aren’t showing anything other than “See I’m facing an issue so it’s the same”.
We are literally showing you concrete differences in the game where your faction has obvious QoL compared to our faction which has nothing.
You are the one twisting it without backing up your claims that the Alliance have nothing negative.
