When is SoD ending

Has anyone heard when SoD will be shuttered? Seems to be dying down a great deal over the past few weeks and especially since TWW dropped. Would free up devs to address issues in Era (not changes, just known issues) and maybe would bring the Era folks back together.

I would assume it’ll drag on until naxxramas is done.

I also would like to say, I looked at the molten core recolors just now and some of them look pretty sweet.

Hopefully soon, its been underwhelming.

Had there been no runes, and minor tuning to classes that were irrelevant.

More focus on dungeons and raids instead…

It wouldve been a way better experience.

The frailities and strengths of the original formula was what made it great. It was pretty obvious that phase 1 was the best… because it was minor changes and not that many runes… right now to put a character together its like playing retail.

Could have been fixed by doing the following.

General Debuff slots in raid now = 40
Naxx and AQ loot (output stats) Nerfed down to Molten Core / BWL output stat levels; what this means is if you factor the output stats of MC / BWL loot without the resist stats; these would be now roughly the same. This makes AQ / Naxx harder-ish, but grants no real power advantage, but instead a different means of playing.
Molten Core T1 Warrior set redesigned for Fury warriors.

Paladin:

  1. Seals, blessings and Judgment mana cost reduced by 50%
  2. Seal of Command damage proc increased to 100% weapon damage. (pre-nerf)
  3. Seal of Crusader now 40% pure haste (pre-nerf)
  4. Seal of righteousness (weapon proc spell power coefficient now 30% / Judgment now 75%)

Shaman:

  1. Pre-nerf WF weapon.
  2. Elemental Fury (talent changed) Elemental fury now returns 100% of the mana cost on critical strike.
  3. Shaman BWL trinket changed NEW ā€œincreases melee and casting haste by 20% for 20 sec 5 mins CDā€
  4. Storm Strike cost reduced by 50%.
  5. Shock damage now instead do 70% weapon damage + 50% spell damage coefficient as Frost, Fire, Nature damage. Damage is considered as a ā€œRange attackā€ not a spell attack to make melee / range hit effective. Shock range now 10 yards.

Druid:

  1. Feral attack power buff on weapons eliminated; weapon DPS on any weapon a druid can equip is now used to augment feral damage output; normalized to ā€œFormā€ attack speed. (example:) Unstoppable force 63DPS weapon now adds 63DPS to the cat / bear at the normalized attack speed per the form.

Priest:

  1. Shadow Form now reduces mana cost of all shadow spells by 20% and threat by 20% and damage by 10%. (passive damage reduction removed)
  2. Damage reduction shields no longer nerf rage gains (massive buff for PVE) Power World shield now no longer benefits from armor class (no longer calculates AC into absorb values) To prevent Disc being too dominant in PVE.

Hunter:

Aspect of the hawk previous effects deleted, new effects as follows.
Aspect of the Hawk Rank 1 (Range attack speed increased by 5%)
Aspect of the Hawk Rank 2 (Range attack speed increased by 10%)
Aspect of the Hawk Rank 3 (Range attack speed increased by 15%)
Aspect of the Hawk Rank 4 (Range attack speed increased by 20%)
Aspect of the Hawk Rank 5 (Range attack speed increased by 25%)
Aspect of the Hawk Rank 6 (Range attack speed increased by 30%)
Aspect of the Hawk Rank 7 (Range attack speed increased by 35%)

Warrior:

  1. Rage scaling is now static to improve the warrior leveling experience and roughly equal to Molten Core Phase with pre-raid BiS; this also makes warrior less ridiculous yet still BiS DPS.
  2. AGI req for 1% Crit now = 29 (same as a rogue) slightly nerfs scaling.

This is simple stuff, and sure there would be tuning req, but its simple yet not game breaking.

It would more likely free up devs to do work on the next thing. But, as far as I know, there has been no talk about SoD shuttering. There was some mention of ā€œsomething interestingā€ at the end, iirc.

The Classic Roadmap shows End Game Content Updates in store for Autumn 2024, so perhaps we’ll hear some news sometime around then.

:woman_shrugging:

Hopefully yesterday.

The sod community are insufferable. Can’t wait for that game to end and hope whatever they do next does not attract those fiends

They were literally the worst. Solo queue SoD pvp was probably the most horrible experience I ever had in a video game when it came to the attitude of other players.

Sod had the worst pvp ecosystem I’ve ever played in on any server in like 10 years. Was actually mind blowing how the sod team kept enabling it too

I struggle to even fully grasp how it got that bad.

Like my experience is basically all from phase 1 when there was hundreds of WSG. So on that one hand, it was cool that it was poppin all the time and that there were tons of premades (from lfg to gamer grps).

But the issue was that inside every solo queue there was like 1-3 people that were either fully afk or so bad they may as well be afk. And the reason they were ā€˜grinding’ was that they wanted rep to buy wsg reward in future phase?

That’s were I think it started to fall apart - they created a situation in which players who are bad at pvp were forced into WSG as it was the only grind available and they were totally useless to team.

Instead of realizing the issue and addressing it quickly with MMR so that games are more even based on skill - they did a very blizzard solution and destroyed pvp by blocking premades and making it so everyone now has to deal with the worst players in nearly every game. So there is basically no reason to ever queue up for good pvp again in SoD, only to grind the rep.

Class changes when the Devs 100% do not understand class design.

I think they’re really good at PVE raid designs, but they need to step off regarding class mechanics; they 100% don’t get it at all.

If all they did for SoD was make new content; it would have been really good.

it should end in november. was terrible after p1. bring back tbc era fresh servers pvp and pve.

I think they should keep launching those seasonal server cesspools, just as a magnet to keep those players out of Era.

Streamer hype is over there, guys. Have fun. ---------------------------->
