I heard about it a couple months ago, but I haven’t seen anything since. Do we know what version this will be? What will be the differences between retail and it?

Classic AV should be a permanent epic BG. Not a brawl (that is only accessible to max-level), but a BG that should be always available to many players.
Heck, even if there was an option to play level 20 AV, I would be in there all day. The last time there was an epic BG in the level 20 bracket was before the summer of 2018. BFA PvP has been pretty terrible, and epic BG’s are non-existent in lower brackets.
I hope that we can all play together! I have many friends on f2p that have never experienced the joy of epic battlegrounds.

I think it should be its own category - so you should be allowed to queue for classic AV, a random epic BG, and a small random BG all at the same time if you so desired.

I agree. Should make it permanent, and in it’s own category. If enough people play it, I’d imagine they would make it permanent.

What’s different between old AV and current AV other than resources ?
It’s never going to be the same. Old AV was built around lvl 51-60s, and the lvl 51-55s being unable to compete in pvp or kill the bosses, so they could only contribute by doing the pve objectives. Everyone is going to be max lvl now, so the objectives will still be pointless. Unless they build the objectives around a high item level ( which they won’t because it’s Blizzard).
Depends how old. Old you could cap in under 6 minutes, a race straight to Van or Drek. Old, Old, you’d play for hours and hours I forgot how long some of them went on.

It’s supposed be from patch 1.5 . So one of the very early versions .
I could be wrong because blizzard, but I’d think the main difference is one side would have to kill the general in order to win. I think the map will be a little different. Not sure if they’re going to have more NPCs and such on the map too - my guess is not much change to NPCs.
Yeah, it’s not going to be the same. Blizz had some sort of stress/bug test some weeks ago which I think was in preparation for this event. IMO it looked pretty similar to current AV except that the map was more ‘retro.’ I recall people complaining that teams were still ‘racing’ when they could…
