because maelstrom synergizes with wf better and itll increase overall damage output by giving you more stacks faster, thus faster instant cast other abilities
Yeah RB is being nerfed, WoE is being nerfed, Lava lash is being nerfed. We will be running WF/WF and proc’ing maelstrom for instant lava bursts instead of just clapping people in melee

It seems like they want enhancement dps to use WF main hand and FT offhand. If it turns out that WF/WF or any other combo is better than WF/FT, I’d guess they will either nerf the other combo somehow, or buff FT or its synergy with lava lash. Either further upping the bonus on lava lash while using flametongue, or adding like +50% flametongue damage while the lava lash rune is equipped.

The problem with it currently is that WoE doesn’t work with it, and WoE is more important in PvP. (For about 4 more days.)
Yeah. It seems like the Lava Lash change really wants Flametongue on the OH.
Going from 150% WD (+50% with FT) to 100% WD (+125% with FT) just screams “For the love of Thrall, if you want to get proper Lava Lash hits, RUN FLAMETONGUE!”.
Also pretty sure Lava Lash also triggers Flametongues ~46 attack as well so… yeah.

Flametongue is just so bad that it still doesn’t seem worth it.
One attack every 6 seconds having a boost, while a lot of offhand hits are worse than using WF.

Dude WF/FT and using Lava Lash is still going to be BiS since those are getting BUFFED. Not to mention then you can save your Maelstrom for LB or Chain Lightning. Shamans are still going to CLAP in PvE/PvP.
Well, yes, WF OH is could be better/might be better,but if they make it so LL does x2 the damage with FT on the OH then with my 2.8 fist I’d better be getting a WF proc at least every 6sec with my OH otherwise I’d just take the 170+ (auto, auto, LL) FT damage.
I don’t claim to be a top tier player nor do I claim I am always right. I ran WF/FT on Therma on Thursday and it was kinda wild on details.

Flametongue Weapon: 11.6k
Stormstrike: 10.9k
Windfury Weapon: 8.1k
If they actually do buff Lava Lash some more then I’m actually happy!
Lava Lash is being buffed if you have Flametongue on offhand by like 75% damage.

But you can’t use Lava Lash and Lava Burst at the same time.
No…why would you use Lava Burst as Enh Shaman? Chain Lightning and LB do more damage. The only reason you’d use Lava Burst is if you’re playing Elemental.
