In pvp? At what haste point does it start feeling strong? Im at 5% haste now and it feels awful. I deal no dmg and have no pressure. Does it get better?
Spriest is S-Tier pvp class/spec the whole expansion. I suggest watching some videos and reading some guides as they can help a lot if you are struggling.

I heard that disc/sub is better this season than spriest/sub was last season, though I don’t know if that’s true or why.
I mostly play feral/disc and spr/sub spr/mage are our hardest comps to face.
Spriest seems really strong, but I think it works best with a partner that can and will peel/cc a lot.

Play with a Frost mage, Trust me on this, its kinda insane. One of my 2’s partners is shadow.

For fighting players, this is a melee dominated expansion. Damn near everyone is rolling warrior, rogue, (feral) druid, death knight, or paladin. I pointed this out in the other thread about warlocks. That said, shadow seems to fair pretty well.
I hate Shadow Priests, no matter my spec.
What im really wondering is what haste rating is needed until they become “s-tier” as everyone is saying. I can tell you that currently, in my 5% haste, it’s not enough… the dmg is very low. I can’t even dent healers. My DoTs dont kill melee before they can kill me… and i have 1000 resilience. I clearly need more haste but not sure what to aim for.

Even when I saw them at 50 to 60 bracket…I hated them. Yet envied them. All I really know of S. priest is retail based. Outside looking in…classic has a better s.priest as I saw it.
One twink was “headshotting” really. One shots all match long.
Clearly a twink build, so see what the twinks are doing I’d say.
you don’t even need haste on sp , 90% Of their abilities are instant or 1 sec cast…shadow priest is the easiest caster in the game, they been strong since vanilla all the way up to current dragonflight at least in arena.
Shadow priest is busted, they can play with virtually any dps in 2s, sp/rog/spret/sp/mage/sp/affy lock, etc etc.
SP has crazy dmg…even at low gear range, more of their scaling comes from the talents themselves, all you pretty much need on a target is Vampiric touch/dp/pain on a target while rotating cc with your partner and pillar humping/mind sear goes thru pillars like arcane missiles etc.
sp legit one of the strongest casters in wotlk and easiest to play. Stop reading reddit for information, that would be your first step, and streamer “tier lists” made by people that never played the game should also be avoided.

yeah it’s not a melee dominated expansion, another person posting nonsense and obviously hasn’t played much wotlk arena.
3s is dominated by casters, 2s sp/mage, resto shaman/aff lock, list goes on, 90% of NA classic players just get wrong info and repeat misinformation by random streamers/reddit/youtube and don’t know what they are talking about.
EU ladder actually has diverse comps, because it’s made up by people that actually played woltk, and pservers for 12+ years.
DK’s are not even represented in 2s on most Pservers after season 5, because they are really not that strong as gear progresses, their burst becomes awful, most can outlast their garg timing, they have no mortal strike, most comps counter dk.
Arms warrior/hapal is the only real melee that stays dominate (gets farmed by sp/mage) but mostly because of how easy it is to play, easy to maintain 50% healing debuff on targets, scales well with later gear.
Rogue/disc is pretty difficult to play you don’t see many of them in wotlk compared to TBC…Ret pala combined with mm hunter is very strong in 2s.
ferals are strong but not many good ones that make it to higher ratings, pretty difficult to play s7/s8 with higher resilience, have to actually play properly, most people in s5/s6 where just yoloing low geared targets down.
Anything remotely mechanical or skill based NA wil avoid, so you see less diversity.
this 3.3.5 patch, Dks/Rets are not even remotely as dominate as they were in previous patches during 2009 wotlk going through progression of balance patches.

I’m sorry to be the one to tell you this. But you suck at it. Because legitimately DK’s, Paly’s and Priests are the best classes this expansion. Shadow priest is an S tier level class for all areas, so most likely you are the problem.
spriest is very good in s7-s8 because of more haste and mp5
s5-s6 i would say it was ok, but you went oom in like 30 seconds so that was a major drawback
i don’t think its ever s tier in wrath, probably high a tier at its best
