im an affliction lock too i got 3/10 m and 10/10 h before the raid nerf also got ksm.
that said i will tell you affliction have a very high skill ceiling and it will reward you if you can pull it off.
for instance its optimal to use absolute corruption on dungeons but if you go siphon life you can pull off even more damage but the skill cap to predict affix/mechanics and manage to dot everything without the dots fall off whne you rapture thats a keypoint.
you need to know how an encounter will play off to perform at your prime thats another point like exploiting your portals and minimazing movement applying corruptions while moving since it deals initial damage even if the dot is already applied things like that help you min max, affli is all about min maxing everything.

you cna look up at raider io or warcraftlogs the talents varys according to playstyle, affixes and dungeon itsself as it depends how well geared is everyone according to your keydifficulty for low keys AC will perform better as it will reduce your ramp up time specially if fire mage or MM hunter is in your party.
another thing to consider is how often are going to rapture if you are sniping soulshards with drain soul etc.
as i pointed out it all depends on the experience of the player with the class and dungeon setting, on raid it gets alot smoother since the encounters are very long compared to dungeons and you have multiple ways to optimize damage.

well i got my ksm as affliction and pushed the content as affliction its about dungeon knowlege overall the cleave potential of MR its better specially if your tank kites or moves mobs while demo and destro require a hard stack to perform at their prime affliction has no limitations.
as i said it depends on playstyle.
and “superior choice?” i think not look at key history no matter the week affliction was pushign the 7s first week then the 13s and the 15s other specs might be easier to pull off but they are not eve close to affliction damage specially on tyranicall weeks.
You can push any key as any spec. However currently trash dies too fast for aff to be optimal.
It’s general consensus of the community that Destro/demo are better for lower keys.
id recommend AC/PS/Haunt until the 20ish range when things actually live quite a while to get value out of your SL boosted MRs.
on Tyran week you can likely just run full ST talents anyways and be a boss damage bot

I see affliction locks doing real numbers in raids, but every time I try out different builds on the target dummies, I always do more damage as destro. I’ve played affliction plenty in the past but the current iteration has you managing a ridiculous number of dots. By the time you get them all up, the first ones are expiring and you have to start over. Don’t know how anyone has the time to cast MR.
