When do you start a vote kick

I’ll play devils advocate (apropriate).

Scenario in random normal, timewalk or heroic: Tank is pulling too big. First part of dungeon they should be able to sense what healer can handle.

Do you

  1. Kick Healer
  2. Kick Tank
  3. Kick worst DPS
  4. Ask tank to stop pulling too much.

For me. Correct answer is 4 after 1 wipe, but this could get you kicked.

After 3 wipes, correct answer is probably 2.

I’d ask 4, depending on the reaction, if negative, I just drop group. I’ll eat the debuff and run later. Then again, I generally don’t pug so this hasn’t really come up for me.

Kick the healer obv

Advise the problem, try again, then after that, it’s contextual, so it’d be starting with 4. I always like to keep in mind some people could just be having an off day when it comes to mistakes, but if it’s not an accident what they’re doing, then there’s a lot less patience for it

heheh, the CORRECT answer is always blame and kick the healer. :stuck_out_tongue:

unless there’s a hunter…

I had this happen in a leveling dungeons. Max level tank was pulling whole rooms in cinderbrew and obviously all the casts that should be interrupted and stopped were not being taken care of. After my second death because the tank wasn’t getting any aggro on the pull I just played around it.

Basically stopped all damage until they were stopped and focused on keeping the party alive. I did everything I could as a mage and we started to live but it was much slower then if the tank would have just did one pull at a time let alone the standard pulls.

At the end of the day you can’t control what other do but only how you act in response.

I might need to temper my expectations but how much is too big in something like TW/normal?

I think if you have the damage for it. It’s fine. If we don’t have the throughput then the tank needs to temper their expectations.

I can pretty much handle any of the nonsense that goes on in queued content, so I only vote to kick trolls or afk.

I don’t initiate vote kicks based on performance 99% of the time. I try to help correct the problem.

I mostly use it as a behavior correcting tool for people that are obviously trolling or just being jerks.

I’m not sure, I’ve never wiped in timewalking. Even recent timewalking which is still a faceroll even after the changes to it.

I don’t.

I don’t vote either, unless it is specifically for an extended afk/dc’d member.

Suck it up and deal with it for 10 minutes or leave the group myself.
My only two reasons for kicking are trolling or they’ve been afk since the last boss.

  1. Use cooldowns and go ape :poop:

Communicate with the group, but it is very hard to chain wipe since you’re likely to have killed some mobs anyway.

I don’t. Eventually the situation resolves itself.

When do you start a vote kick

Depends
I usually just deal with bad behavior unless its obvious the person is TRYING to waste our time by stalling. If theyre killing stuff…even causing wipes…if the run is half over, why bother.
If DPS is obviously intentionally pulling for the tank and its causing chaos, if Im healing i turn off the heals and let them die. That catch up run usually works well enough.
Mostly I just try to suffer thru the bad behavior and get it over with.

If the tank is overpulling and Im healing, I’ll try to keep everyone alive, but Im not going to feel bad if they die. If they cant do basic math well enough to comprende that I have a maximum output and exceeding that will nearly certainly cause some deaths, thats not my problem.
If the tank keeps pulling knowing Im OOM and they die…not my problem.
If theyre too dumb to figure it out and kick me…again, not my problem. The next group will actually have a brain most of the time.

Mainly I’ll bail myself if theyre acting the fool…such as kicking a tank for petty tripe like making a wrong turn then quickly correcting.

When Im running DPS, I just stop thinking about clowns behaving like clowns and try to get it overwith as quickly as possible.

I begin my preemptive group kick as soon as the tank takes their first step.

I would only initiate a vote-kick if someone was being a jerk in the group.
Role and performance don’t matter, attitude does.

May consider the person who keeps pulling like a madman after a wipe to be discourteous.

… but really, there’s a reason I don’t bother with groups in WoW outside LFR. Just not worth putting up with some people, and they seem to be mercifully rare and somewhat restrained in LFR for some reason.

Only time I recall initiating a vote kick myself was in an LFR. Some warrior put his character on follow and just followed me around

Time walking and heroic is not really something I bother with, and even when I do, my warlock is geared enough to be the tank. I’ve actually been the tank in a few of them lol

lol.
Ive done that…a macro to follow the tank…gets a bit too creepy close though lol
