I started right after WOTLK was released. When did you start playing this iconic game? :slight_smile:

A month after Vanilla launched.

Is there a glitch in the matrix? I feel like I have seen this topic several times before.

right before the release of TBC. I think by 6 months or so. Left right before WotLK for life reasons, came back before the end of WoD.

Played EQ for years before that, though.

I started in 2005, leveling my Undead Warrior in the Tirisfal Glades. I was immediately hooked - good times.

January, 2007. Right as my first deployment ended, when my pockets were stuffed with untaxed deployment paychecks.

Middle of August, 2006. Thallia was made in September of that same year. She’s been my main ever since.

I started in December 2008. My best friend had been trying to get me to play since Classic but I refused because I knew I’d get hooked. So he finally gave me a copy of the game for my birthday.

I play tested in early Classic (Dec 2004), but I got my first account in March 2005 on the EU realms.

I didn’t start playing regularly until Legion. Played some Cata/MoP/WoD before then, but never really stayed too long.

June 2006. Even though I played during vanilla, I don’t really consider myself a ‘vanilla vet’. I knew nothing about video games or MMO’s, and I had no idea that at level 60 a whole new world of content opened up, so it was a VERY leisurely stroll to level 60 for me.

Beta 2004! One of the OGs still out there.
Loved it so much I even bought the Original Collector’s Edition!
Mini Diablo, Panda & Zergling pets ftw! :wink:

November 2005. This is easy to remember because it’s the same time that Star Wars Galaxies implemented the NGE, which caused me and a few hundred others on my server to quit simultaneously and move to WOW.

Also started out as a Druid, then went Paladin in TBC.

Nnniiiiicccceeee… I too started in beta for classic. Since I was already playing Blizzard games at the time (SC and WC3) I would always see the little adds for WoW and jumped at the opportunity to play the beta. I also bought the collectors edition and check out the art in the book from time to time. :sweat_smile:

Just before Burning Crusade came out.

Never unsubbed until WoD. I’ve been off and on since then.

First open stress test. Which is why I don’t want to play classic. I’m not that nostalgic for when I was 25.
