When did they become Undead again?

I was creating a new character to try out Exile’s Reach and I noticed that the Forsaken are now listed as Undead again. When did that happen? There was even a jab at the race name change in a BFA quest with an NPC saying “the technical term is Forsaken”. (Quest: Down by the Riverside in Nazmir).

They’ve been listed as Undead for ages.

I thought they changed it from Undead to Forsaken due to something relating to China/Asian countries and taboo regarding dead things.

I think it had something to do with the spell Turn Undead having unintended effects on Forsaken players.

tfw Blizzard has no idea what to do with your race mechanically and story wise.

Stay away from priests and paladins and uh death knights too!

They were always undead. Even forum calls them undead instead of forsaken

I’m redead

it would be legit hilarious if you could use enslave undead on a player forsaken.

I thought they were renamed Forsaken within the game (like at character creation). Maybe it’s just my old man brain and imagining things. LOL!

Would be nice.

I just want to scream and freeze people. Then give them a hug

If I remember correctly, it did in beta. Paladins and Priests could use their spells against them (and detect Undead could spot them).

Are Forsaken death knights “super undead”?

On a separate, yet related note… Why can’t players choose any race when creating Undead? I mean, Sylvannas was Forsaken and she was a resurrected High Elf. I mean, how cool would it be to have an Undead Tauren or Panda? Just food for thought. LOL!

If this were PvsZ, I’d be:
