Still shakes head. They have flying ship. Why does not all ship fly then? It just does not make sense. One I can say fluke. Seen over 10 in the years playing. They not that rare.

I personally think air ships exist in Warcraft for the sole purpose of getting blown up in questlines, cinematics, and raids. Blizzard is very fond of the Rule of Cool.
I don’t care how we got an aircraft carrier cuz it’s just a launch spot for AERIAL COMBAT!!
That was an excellent time! I loved it, was lousy at it and still was smiling the whole time. We’ve had other “ride airplanes that bomb things” type events but this was dogfighting!! All the fun that was supposedly sucked out of the game, according to the haters, came back in One. Can’t wait for this Romp in the Swamp to happen again.

We have aircraft, repeating rifles, machine guns, high-yield bombs, tanks, power-armor and literal heli-carriers. By any definition Azeroth is using war machines on the level of 1945 or beyond yet we’re still using bows and swords.
Don’t overthink it.

Build? na, but you do have them. We also have mana bombs, which we don’t use for some reason… Blizzard logic at its best.
For the same reasons that most real life nations still have Navy’s: planes can be shot down and aren’t exactly cheap to make.
Also, ships can transport a lot more than planes can.
