Been trying to find info on which expansion pet battles started. Was it MOP or will I be excited for them in Cata?
battle pets came out in MoP

It was in Pokemon Red, blue and Yellow, also MoP.

I hope in MoP when pet battles come out. They don’t do that stupid 3 of the same pet thing again. Just leave it at one.
I never used three of a pet in a battle but had them at different levels as I sold lots of pets. Made great gold
Wish it was even later. I hate them because I liked right clicking critters to kill them. That becomes impossible when Pokémon is added. Though I think you still had to opt into it in MoP. It was later on it was forced on everyone.
Not trying to stop pet selling put it really shouldn’t be something you have to learn first then put in a crate.
Wow I would have guessed Pet Battles was Cataclysm. Pokemon battlez, gotta catch’em all!

The very little i invested into retail, pet battles were my favourite thing. I’m keen on MoP for this.
Lot of the pets got changed in Cata. Some got removed. Then the battlepets came out in MOP.
I did one simple google search
"wow battle pets expansion"
and it instantly said Mists of Pandaria
I’d be interested to know which ones get removed so I can try and nab some before pre-patch. Unless they are removed from our collections as well?
Not removed from collections. And very few are affected by Cata. It is mainly in MOP that things went crazy with that.
the egregiously pay-to-win mini-game snuck into WoW trying to coax players into Shop as every dominant meta trio in pvp relied on pets from the shop.
That, along with not allowing wild-caught pets to be traded are some glaring sorespots on the otherwise amusing addition to the game.
