I last played shadowlands season 2 and came back about 6 weeks ago. Back then I feel like the norm was that the first 2 people to get to the dungeon would summon the others, but now I feel like what usually happens is everyone just goes inside.
When did this change? Am I misremembering things? I don’t think I am because it struck me as odd that the first people to get to the dungeon didn’t tend to summon the others. I’m usually one of the first ones there and I used to wait at the stone, but everyone just flew past me and went inside.
Now that I think about it…I know for sure I’m not misremembering things because I recall on rare occasions I would be the only person at the stone and 4 other players wouldn’t head toward the dungeon as they were expecting a summon…and I’d have to say something to make someone head to the dungeon. Is that why things changed? Were too many people taking advantage of it by not heading to the dungeon and just expecting a summon?
Well, almost nobody waits for a summon these days because people don’t tend to summon. Sometimes people ask which only annoys me if they wait a long time before asking. I just wish the norm was to summon just to speed things up. I’d rather summon people to get things rolling rather than having 4 people inside the dungeon waiting for the slow people to finally arrive.
Every dungeon is 30s away from Dornogal through the timeways portal.
Nerub’ar Palace was like 40s away from Dornogal through the portal + a bit of flying.
Undermine is again literally right there through the gobbo teleporter.
If I need to summon you because you can’t be arsed to move the moment you’re ready to enter then I can just as well kick you and invite someone who’ll instantly start moving.
it’s not about “need” as much as it just speeds things up. it seems odd to me considering how much m+ players value their time, yet most of us have spent hours upon hours waiting for a key to start, cumulatively, that could have been saved if summoning people were the norm.
It speeds up nothing, you’re already behind because some goober can’t move to the portal and to the dungeon. Running out, clicking the portal and waiting for the goober to accept is 30+s.
So as a punitive measure might instead kick said goober.
At this point I only walk out of the dungeon to summon someone if they’re taking too long. The little pop up to ask if they want to take a summon is now just to let people know to hurry up because me and like at least 1-2 other people are waiting on them lol.
This feels like a new trend that just started this season. Most groups refuse to summon for any reason. I’ll sit at a stone trying to summon and people will ignore and go straight to the dungeon to wait. They’d rather sit there 10 minutes than click a damn button. As a group leader I just remove those people since it’s coming from what I view as a nonsensical egotistical mindset. People are so butt hurt acting like they put in work to travel… LOL.
I’ve been kicking people from and leaving groups because one or two people think their time is worth more than anyone else’s since vanilla.
If you can’t be bothered to make your own way to the instance, you don’t deserve a summon. And it’s easier than it’s every been to get your own self to the instance, you really have no excuse.
Had a guy join our group just this week who was [inevitably] trolling (Or a bot). Asked for summon (Needed two to finally take it). Then when they were in the dungeon, they started pulling the M0 trash.
i think its cause its so fast to get around now…portals and all…it doesn’t take long to pop in and around places like before. Especially with dragonriding
It takes no time at all to get to any of the dungeons lol. Just fly, I get it when somebody was out in the middle of nowhere but even then if I’m signing up for dungeons then I know I need to start moving.
