I was starting a new character and was on the boat. I heard the sound of a whisper, but did not see it in my dialogue box, so went on my way. Turns out some poor soul did not know what to do to get off the boat, and was just destroying training dummies. The poor guy was level 9!!! His question to me created a new Tab instead of showing up in the dialogue box like normal.
Just wonder when and why? Is this a total change, or does this only happen during Exile’s Reach? Anyone else notice this?

Happened to me elsewhere. It’s kind of annoying since I already have a separate tab for my whispers. Would love to know where to turn it off, if it can be turned off.
This seems to be a new feature added. If you go to Interface - > Social - > New Whispers, you can change the setting to ‘Inline’ in order to revert the change.
Yeah and I like this change! It makes it way easier to keep track of what people are saying when you are chatting to more than one person!

theres no “chat” option under interface
Maybe it’s listed as ‘Social’, I’m not currently online to double check.

It’s under social and has been for quite awhile.
I use Wow Instant Messenger. I never see my tabs if someone whispers me. I need a box to pop up in my face. lol

It’s new.
It’s good for new players.
It’s annoying for people like me who use WIM.
Thankfully it can be turned off.
