When Classic gets stale, let's get an expansion!

But, not TBC!

See, going back to Classic allows us to sort of time travel back and then go forward from there in a new direction! Instead of the Burning Crusade making an appearance after Vanilla, forget the portal opening and all that, let’s take WoW somewhere else!

Once a storyline is established that diverges from the previous WoW universe that began with TBC on down to BFA, we can have another 10 years of an entirely alternate WoW universe! Maybe this time it’s the Void and the creatures there that become far more antagonistic to Azeroth than Sargeras? Maybe the Dragons can have an entire expansion pack dedicated to them? Forget pandas and the Lich King for now, Arthas can stay isolated and asleep on Northrend while we get to go somewhere completely new to Warcraft.

The future of WoW is in Classic; we can run the story in a new direction!

im sorta split, i want classic to stay classic, and that it dosent progress beyond 60… i hated the progress reset with each expansion

but that being said, i wouldent mind them adding events like darkmoon fair, or new dungeons, that add sets within the 60 tier sphere, the sets dosent have to be “better” but difrent flavour to them…

like tanking set for ferals, arms set for fighters, or why not a shadow set for priets… i want classic to stay classic, and if change is to happen it needs to be done within the 60 sphere…

They can release a fresh server with 50% reduced xp gain!

That’s…that’s not how this works.

This isn’t going to happen.

You’ll get TBC and then Wrath. Maybe.

This is what it should be.

Why?

Why does WoW have to repeat the same, boring cycle all over again?

The brand needs new stories, new places for the players to go, and it needs to do it from right after Classic ends; we’re not getting a Warcraft 4. Ever. We’re not getting a WoW 2. The only longevity for the brand for more than a few more years is going to be doing something post-classic, because post-BFA is only going to go for so long – the creative reservoir of Blizzard is dry for the current storyline.

It’s worse than the creative drought in Hollywood and Disney that can’t do anything more than rehash the old stories that the actual geniuses invented.

Agreed. If people love Vanilla, why would they want TBC next? Let’s get some of the unreleased content. More dungeons, raids, etc. that don’t increase progression and do not include class changes or balancing. Just more stuff for us to do together on our characters.

If you love Vanilla, let it flourish.

Mmhmm.

An expansion doesn’t necessarily have to include a level cap raise. Our characters can stay in Classic mode and still expand the horizons they venture over.

That would require a development team, not a restoration team.

Classic has yet to prove its legs. Till then, no work on new content.

I’m hugely in favor of this. I don’t want to just re-do the same cycle, I want them to build on what Vanilla was, not just repeat the same sh!t they did back in the day.

As soon as August rolls around though, the game will be released and their team will have nothing to do but quash bugs. If we don’t ask for it now, they’ll probably just go work on TBC. TBC is what led us to BfA. One xpac will just lead to another and history will repeat itself.

They have Patch 1.14, Patch 1.15, Patch 1.16, Patch 1.17 and Patch 1.18 to work on.

You don’t think they’re working on Naxxramas right now do you?

They’re probably somewhere in the middle of those, getting the entire gaming running is probably a lot more work than adding some raids to the game that were already in it. They’ve got the engine figured out and the client/server talking to each other correctly.

They are, but they’re working on the Patch 1.13 (Content Patch 1) content, with early works for future systems like Battlegrounds. If I was them, I wouldn’t have even touched AQ or Naxx except any custom mechanics, until the game was ready to launch. There’s far more pressing items to work on .

False. Classic will never get stale!

TBC is where we wanna stop level 70 not 60

“if it wasn’t in classic, it’s not classic”. Sound familiar?
