Some of your followers are common across covenants. You retain them at their original level. Some are covenant specific which you have to level again.

Not entirely 100% sure how it works so don’t quote me on it, however, in my experiences when I swapped covenants was that all the followers you get from leveling Renown all start at level 1 and you have to re-level. However, some followers retain their level from the previous covenant such as Croman and Meatball. The troops will also gain the same level as your highest level follower. So I was sending out level 1 NF followers with level 43 troops because that was Croman’s level prior to the covenant change lol
