Could it be moved to the shirt or shoulders or something?
Or a maybe a toy?
Toy would be appropriate. We already get a toy that’s a universal equivalent to Findle’s Loot-A-Rang. No reason we can’t also get an engineering-requiring toy that’s an infinite version of a Goblin Glider.
This should have been dealt with before the patch even went live.
Blizzard might be thinking “whats the big deal”, but engineer is one of the most expensive professions to level and not profitable that much.
Tools of the Trade was horrible too. And now this.
The only reason I kept engineering was the nitro boost (which luckily still have /s) and the non-consumable goblin glider.
I hope they come up with something within a week or two.
Ring. Move it to the ring.
Knowing how they handle toys, they’d put an hour CD on it.
No. They didn’t mess up our other things like MOLL-E when they made it a toy. There are plenty of short-cooldown toys. If they move tinkers to the ring slot, then they’ll just break us again down the line when they make a new legendary ring that has some crazy effect like maybe teleporting us to Dalaran or Karazhan or something.
Rings already have an enchant, so moving it to the ring slot would prevent us from using a normal DPS enchant (items only have one “enchant” slot in the item link).
Toy really is the most robust and least likely to conflict solution, and it has a ton of precedent, too, since they literally just moved the vast majority of engineering gadgets to the toy collection.
“When”? Shouldn’t we start with “if”, rather than assuming that Blizzard will do whatever we say?
The “game designers” in this thread are still debating what the change “should” be, and you are already asking “when” this not-yet-defined change will happen?
Or are you talking about some already-announced “update” that I don’t know about?
No. “When” is the correct word.
The “update” can be something as simple as, “We heard your feedback, and we’ve decided to just screw engineers over. Deal with it.”
That’s not “when”. The devs have zero incentive to be forthcoming, even if your made-up quote is accurate. Silence has no downsides for everyone that matters (the devs and no one else).
Toy makes the most sense
