Hi Blizzard, I was wondering if we could change specs mid combat. Like, lets say I’m a priest, and I want to change from holy to shadow or shadow to discipline mid combat just in case one of the healers die.
Better yet, the most obvious case is the Druid. What if I want to switch from a Boomkin to a cat, then, if its implemented again, treeform at the drop of a hat, then when the battle is over I switch to travel form.
The possibilities are endless. How much do I , or the rest of the community members that agree with me, have to beg to get this going.

Sounds like a balancing nightmare that we should probably avoid at all costs.

That sounds like it would open the door for some very degenerate gameplay

If you can do it in Guild Wars 2, why cant you in WoW. It doesnt sound impossible to me.
Why can’t I pause the game and think after every spell I cast? I can do it in Baldur’s Gate 3, why can’t I in WoW?

God, the amount of degeneracy that already comes to mind. That’s a hard no.

Well Baldurs Gate III isnt an mmo and the gameplay isnt similar to WoW I dont think. BG3 is a turn based rpg where Guild Wars 2 is a MMO that involves drop of a hat combat requirements.
Endlessly awful lol
It’s bad enough when some obnoxious rotation becomes meta and everyone insists you do it. I’d hate to see a rotation where mages are having to switch between each spec to use up nukes in a cooldown window.
Besides, specs in WoW are fleshed out to the point where in any other game they’d be different classes entirely in some cases.
It’s just not gonna happen.

Put points down the obvious line and switch if/as needed
No, you cant? GW2 allows instant spec swap, but not in combat. That would also be P2W because they sell build save slots.
“Healer died. Jeff, swap to this spec you don’t like playing.”
