I don’t understand how is this still a thing bows guns and crossbows are so bad treated they are the only kind of weapons that dont have any kind of illusion especially now with the new shadowlands expansion coming and with the more expensive version coming with a cool illusion that main hunters cannot use i think that is time that this discrimination against hunters and their weapons stops.
My Hunter can use it. He’s the TRUE Hunter spec. Melee SV.
We need the down vote button on the forums again…
I’m not trolling. SV Hunter is the best spec. Highest mobility, most utility, most cc, most burst. To say otherwise is to prove you only raid LFR.
It took them how many years just to finally let us transmog our legendary bow Hunters have always been the step child in WoW.
Honestly for illusions on bows they should have instead applied the effect to our arrows/quivers I think that would be more fitting and cooler.
Back when we still used ammo, certain ammo like the ice arrows from Alterac Valley applied a blue ice effect to our shots you literally shot a ice arrow. Im sure they could easily apply the different enchant effects we have ingame to do the same.
Illusions are tied to enchantments. You could not enchant ranged weapons in prior expansions so you never had the ability to have the enchantment glow.
Not trolling? Let’s see… mythic Queen Azshara logs show 791 BM Hunters, 66 MM Hunters and 7 Surv Hunters. Clearly all of our non survival hunters just raid LFR. The expert posting on his demon hunter must know better than all the cutting edge Hunters.
On topic: I agree there should be a scope for the shadowlands paid enchant. It’s dumb that just one class gets screwed over.
it’s the typical SV rando that only plays 1/3 of the class
Always posting from a melee class, no less.
This saved me money … Epic edition, nah I main a BM she can’t use the weapon effects so why waste money … Base edition, Yup! perfect!
Is it transmoggable or is that an assumption for next expansion?
I believe they were talking about Rhok and how up until recent years, it wasn’t transmogable unless you actually still had the bow in your bags.
In regards to actual legendaries being transmogable, that was confirmed by Ian at BlizzCon this year as a “coming soon” feature.
Been asking for illusions on bow, xbows n guns for years. Would love to jazz up my Rhok.

Yes yes yes. we all have to just make some noise. Hunters are wows only ranged weapon class we deserve illusions or a new ranged weapon class.
I don’t care too much for illusions, but you know what I would like - cosmetic attachments that give us gun noises, laser noises, colored arrows, quivers, a wood chucker, the sound of a jet engine revving up as I take aim, that sort of thing.
Hell, given that Blizzard is owned by Activision, I’m honestly shocked that we don’t get a golden weapon for a bazillion kills or something!
I miss the old gun noised that was deleted, though it is kinda nostalgically annoying/repetitive. I hope that weapons, old or new can be given new sounds and that if Illusion could be applied to weapons for “projectile appearance” or affect the bow’s look in drawing for when held.
Considering the lack of detail/glow and design from mail gear(xmog) we’ve been getting for years along with the dungeon style bows, guns, and crossbows compared to other schools of high tier design weapons for other classes we have that are more detailed with better effects, you think they would add this for us? I doubt it. Illusions could have been used on arrows/quivers, or maybe gun pouches, but we still don’t have quivers after how many years Hunters been asking for them?
But now we can so why not?
And whats worse is certain crossbows show their enchant but can’t have an illusion applied. Its very frustrating.
i support this let us illusion enchant ranged weapons or at least ammo hell bring back ammo and the deadzone
It’s high time we got illusions for these weapons. Bows, guns and crossbows are integral to hunters yet we can’t do anything to them. Meanwhile mages can carry all manner of swords, which are nothing more than a stat stick to them, and enchant to their hearts desire. I know it’s just a mechanic carried over from any other class but the point is Blizz should show more love to us hunters and our ranged weapons.
